Iron Eagle III - Aces

I was about to blast you, but remembered Iron Eagle III is pretty bad. That's the one with the old planes, right?

However, I thought Iron Eagles II was the coolest thing ever when I was about 9 years old.

Don't ever get Iron Eagle I and II confused with the piece of crap that is Iron Eagle III. The first ones were watchable. The third one you will need to strap yourself in a chair to finish the movie.

Hard to go wrong with Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, but they did.

Also, There Will Be Blood. Love Daniel Day Lewis but this one was downright horrible. The only redeeming part was "I drink your milkshake!"

Deep Blue Sea was another summer of '99 movie.... and I loved it.

Ok... it was a pretty terrible movie, but as Samuel L. Jackson was giving another classic Samuel L. Jackson monologue, my friend said, "please let a shark jump out of the water and eat him." And that's precisely when it happened... it was glorious.

If I had only known M. Night Shyamalan was the director, I might have suspected it was going to suck. But being a fan of the show, I blindly went to watch that monstrosity. I saw on tv later that the studio had purposefully kept Shyamalan's name in the background.

Signs was so bad I didn't watch The Happening, which I've heard was atrocious.

I'm with you. I like dry humor, but those films are lifeless. It feels like the people who try to tell you his movies are master pieces are the same people that try really hard to prove how smart they are. I had a friend of mine try to tell me that Royal Tenebaums was funny because the kids wore jump suits. I'm still searching for the humor in that.

He is definitely an auteur so if you don't like his vision or whatever you want to call it I can definitely see how someone would hate it.

I like the films though, they are sweet and look incredible, I don't really look for anything deeper than that in a Wes Anderson movie though and I'm never disappointed.

I know I'm the weird one for not liking There Will Be Blood, hell I liked Lincoln. So I understand not liking a movie most discerning people love. I really couldn't get into Mad Men, again, I'm the oddball. But I love most Wes Anderson, high brow movies, old movies such as Dr. Zhivago (not Citizen Kane), pretty much anything with Kevin Spacey, anything done by Kevin Smith, and Demolition Man which I've never been able to explain.

That scene is incredible though. Especially with Elliott Smith's death.

You cannot take a scene like that out of context though. And, the movie is very artfully done. And yes, even a scene as intense as that one is funny. It ends with him not telling them what he wrote in his suicide note!?!? Its not a humor that is for everyone but if you appreciate the movie, its great.
