On Saturday Nelson Cruz had two hits to become the first player age 43 or older to get a big league knock since 2018.
Who was the player who got a base hit in 2018 at age 44?

Neither Franco nor Colon are correct but are excellent guesses. I looked up their stats and Colon got his last hit as a Met in 2016 at age 43.
Franco was 48 when he got a few hits with Atlanta in 2007. The question is the LAST player to get a hit when at least 43 years old.
Hint: At one time in his career he played for a New York team but he was with another team at age 44.

Follow up question (should be easy):
Who is the oldest pitcher to be credited with a win in MLB history?

Jamie Moyer at age 49.
Satchel Paige was officially 46 when he won his last game for the St. Louis Browns but was probably older.
However in 1965, at age 59, Charlie Finley signed him to a contract with the Kansas City A's. On September 25, 1965, Paige took the mound as the starting pitcher versus the Boston Red Sox. He pitched three innings, 28 pitches, giving up only one hit, a double to Carl Yastrzemski.
