Wow. Did anyone else stick with this show? Because if you did, it truly rewarded itself by the end. As a critic I read today wrote: "turned out to be strangest, saddest, gloomiest -- and most addictively watchable -- TV success story of the entire summer".

It was hard to watch but a great and well done show. The music was always incredible. Always a muted version of a song that would just shock you when you figured it out. Case in point, the finale. I sat there with my wife during one scene and said "isn't this a rock song?" while some violins or cellos were playing. She looked at me like I was crazy. Well, I found my answer today. It was "nothing else matters" by Metallica. Done by 4 guys playing cellos. Freaking amazing and put into the context of the scene, absurdly great... Just like the earlier episode where the preacher went through all of his trials to get the money to save the church. Then, the credits roll and they play "Get me to the church on time". Really a great show. Again, not easy to watch but so well done.

Here is the cello version of "Nothing else matters" for anyone that cares. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-B8k0n_3cs

I watched it and thought it was great. I'm not sure why I stuck with it because it was bizarre and downright boring at times. I'm glad I stuck around for the season finale. It was just really well done and I'm looking forward to the next season. There are quite a few story lines that they left open-ended and I'm anxious to see where they go.

You're right about the music, too. The cello version of Nothing Else Matters was awesome. It took me a minute to pick up on it but I thought it fit the scene really well once I figured out what it was.

I've watched all episodes and still have no idea what or why I'm watching.

I think that I saw every episode but one, and I really enjoyed it. I agree that the music has been great.

I haven't read much about the show, but isn't it like a secular version of "Left Behind"?

I like the slow mural pan in the opening that demonstrates how the FORNICATORS and other sinners are the ones who get left behind.

It's a great show that's probably as full of easter egg clues as Lost.

Glad I'm not the only one. I don't know if I like it or dislike it. I also have no idea what the hell is going on. People disappeared, crazy people made them remember them, some guy healed people but maybe he didn't but it doesn't matter because he's dead, the main character may see people who aren't real. That's about all I got. Oh, and he does crazy **** when he sleeps.

Except for the craziest dog of them all who's actually not crazy now. Maybe that's what Garvey wished for from dead black Jesus. 'Please, left me tame that crazy *** dog. That's all I want in life is to make that ******* my pet.'

It IS weird but definitely thought provoking. The deer definitely symbolizes his internal (or crazy) battle. I definitely thought, or think, that the dogs had some relevance to the crazy people. In one episode, the tobacco chewing dude was about to shoot the dog in the mailbox but had a bed full of the crazy people in his truck. I thought it was some sort of symbol about them.

And, the black jesus prophet definitely has to mean something toward the future. He was crazy but I think he was genuine in his powers or what he thought were his powers. In the end, Garvey got what he wanted. He got his 'family' back. His daughter and Nora. That seemed to be his wish.

The 10 minutes of the next to last episode where it showed where everyone was when the departure happened was amazing TV though.

I still don't get the series.
Nothing was really explained as to why people were left and why some went away.
