Thoughts on last nights episode? Personally thought the last 10 minutes of the show last night was some of the best TV I have ever seen. Jeff Daniels and Sam Waterston have been damn good the entire show.

The gun foreshadowing was a little much, you could almost script that they were going to close with Gabby Giffords. Either way, Emily Mortimer is smoking hot, and the girl who plays Maggie annoys the **** out of me (though, i imagine she is supposed to).

Decent moment, but "Fix You" didn't make a lick of sense with it. Ruined the episode for me... and my girlfriend. There was a thread about the show in general on here last night, for what it's worth.<div>
</div><div>Daniels and Waterson have been great. Frankly, the entire cast has done a pretty good job. As I stated before, there are impressive and appealing aspects of the production, but when they aren't making great political points, the narrative just gets a little too sappy. I'll keep watching, but mostly because I love HBO.</div>

1st point.. I did like Fix you, thought it worked well and enjoy it in most tv slots

<div>2nd point I think they are getting the political points across they want, not to say I agree with everything that is said but I think they do a good job at what they are trying to on that front</div>

There at the end where the jerk face guy that I hate actually stands up to the exec and Jeff Daniels character yells "you're a newsman no matter what I say".....that was some electric acting..intense. Honestly, I get the whole political agenda but I like the story about a burtn out/sold out guy rediscovering himself and choosing to stand for something. I think that is a problem with the upcoming generation (maybe even mine)...we don't really stand for anything. As was said in the train wreck of a movie called Sucker Punch...."If you don't stand for nothin' you'll fall for anything".

Anyways, agenda aside, solid story and good acting. Good way to spend 1 hour a week.

is some of the best TV out there including Newsroom.....but am I the only person out here who would like to kick Bill Maher in the face to shut him up. Ive damn near cancelled HBO over his demented ***. That and the fact that any political show (i.e. Recount and that Sarah Palin movie) are all told from a left wing point of view and basically make the righties look like buffoons. Still some good TV though.

I don't get why someone would "almost cancel" a channel putting out some of the best TV because they don't like a certain show. Unless your remote is out of batteries, that does suck.

The end of that episode was amazing. I liked the song too and thought it fit in the moment. Best episode so far, I thought. (And I own a gun andsupport the 2nd Amendment).

To the guys complaining abou the "agenda," I would honestly like to know what information on the show has been factually incorrect--really not trying to make this a political argument, just genuinely interested in whether anything has been inaccurate factually.

This is a great article on the topic
http://www.weeklystandard...e-media-bias_648608.html

As a proud gun-owner I assume that the whole Fast and Furious scheme troubles you. The major networks did not cover the story for a year and when they did, they claimed Bush did the same exact thing, which is a lie.

I doubt "Newsroom" covers F&F, green energy busts, decline in drilling on federal land, debt boom, food-stamp expolsion, etc.

I don't want a dime of my money going towards Maher. I'm no conservative either, but Maher is just a disgusting human being.

i agree with maher on a lot of points. he's just a smarmy *******. i sometimes watch his panels though when i'm laying in bed on the weekends, but i hate his opening standup. i don't thinks he's very funny. his "new rules" segment at the end of each episode is almost always awful. colbert and jon stewart do the political humor thing much much better without coming across as an *******.

the newsroom is ok. it's a little preachey and uses a lot of hindsight in making the characters look like the smartest people in the room. and i'm about as liberal as you'll find on this board. they could have benefited i think from condensing the show. make the storyline of the season only cover a couple of months instead of apparently trying to have entire episodes cover weeks if not months and cover every big news story of 2010-2011 in 1 season. flesh out the characters a bit more.

as of now, i'll dvr it and get around to watching it later in the week, but you are doing yourself a disservice if you are watching the newsroom instead of breaking bad in that sunday night time slot.

....and I have to say Will's (Sorkin's) view of the Tea Party is pretty damn accurate. And I lean conservative.
