In the past two weeks I have run across two people that I just did not recognize. The first one I figured out who it was and the second one I had to ask my wife who it was.

I was talking to a doctor friend of mine today and he said once these drugs hit the generic market and are dirt cheap, it will be rare to see obese people. You know how many dimes are walking around Mississippi right now that just need to lose a few pounds?

I hope they are as good long term as they have been for people short term.
Like any drug, there's just no way they can be healthy long term.

But yes, short term, I think they are beneficial but people need to wean themselves off of it and adopt a healthier process. So many fail to do that. Or just reduce the intake to a sustainable amount, like testosterone or whatever.

From people I've seen using it that have lost a lot of weight, if you don't pair it with some lifestyle changes, you will definitely look better, but you won't look good. You'll lose muscle and look better, but not quite right. Or maybe it's just luck of the draw who looks normal and who doesn't, but I assume it's the ones that are pairing it with excercise and making sure to eat protein who look normal.

I mean, there's no way they can have zero side effects long term, but doesn't mean they are going to be unhealthy. I'm sure taking it is less healthy than actually exercising regularly and eating a healthy diet, but that is obviously just not on the table for something like 30-40% of people in the US.

Agree. Take Amy Schumer. She was fat and unattractive. Now she is a healthy weight and somehow even more unattractive.

I mean, she looks weird, but she doesn't look more unattractive than she did within say 50 lbs of her high weight. I could see the argument for some of the pictures showing her when she was chubby on the way to obese.

Same thing with Kelly Osbourne. Ughhh. She has serious Ozempic Face going on.
I havent thought of Kelly Osbourne in over 20 years since their show was first on, but still...I wouldnt have guessed this is her if I were given 15 guesses.
If she is healthier and happier, cool. Totally unrecognizable. I dont think a sketch artist would draw the picture on the right if asked to add 25 years to the picture on the left.

The biggest thing I see with it is maybe issues with your digestive tract because it slows it to a halt. Nothing negative per se.

They’ve also determined that a microdose of it helps people that suffer from chronic allergen issues like MCAS. My wife has MCAS and it sucks and I hate it for her. Shes going to try the microdose and see how it goes.

I used it back about 3- 4 years ago. I lost 30 lbs on it in a couple months. But, I used it to learn healthy eating habits while I was on it. I've gone from. 6'2 , 275 to 6'2 200 now. Every blood test has improved massively. It's a miracle drug! Don't notice the 3 inches or hair loss, as I've got plenty of hair and just figure I can see that SOB better now, and like a big redwood tree, it grows better in the sunlight.

There’s a young guy in his early 20’s at my golf club that should use this drug. He’s around 6ft tall and pushing 400lbs. Was a darn good golfer but struggles with all this extra weight. We’ve all talked to him but goes in one ear out the other. He’s cruising for an early death if he doesn’t change his lifestyle.

That's how my wife and I were on semaglutide (Ozempic). We switched to tirzepatide (Zepbound/Mounjaro) and did not have the nausea at all. We've both dropped about 40 lbs. I got on TRT too and started lifting weights. I feel like I'm in my 20's again, no lie.

People I’ve seen, both in real life & celebrities pictures look so unhealthy after the weight loss & worse than they did with the weight. You lose muscle mass, which is a very bad thing. I think we’re going to see some cereal health issues from these drugs long term.

It’s like anything else with weight loss, it’s a tool to help you reach a goal but it’s not the magic solution. You have to weight train or you’ll look like a zombie

Doc put me on Mounjaro for diabeetus because I was tired of the side effects from the usual stuff. He kept bumping up the dosage over 6 months. After the second increase, I could barely eat half a normal meal before I felt uncomfortably bloated. Food had gotten to where I really didn’t enjoy anything. I hated it. Plus, about once a fortnight, I would wake up in the middle of the night with explosive diarrhea.

To start the year, I was going to have to pay $250 a month after insurance. Nope. I got my doc to switch me to Victoza.

Unless people decide to change their lifestyle and eating habits they are going to put the weight back on just as quickly as they lost it.
Most people are not willing to do that.
I’ve already seen examples of the rapid weight loss plus overall muscle mass loss and then the fat comes back in all the same places they were trying to lose it before but the diet didn’t change at all afterwards.
