Paper towels - Bounty SaS only (no national or store)
Ketchup - Heinz only (no national or store)

Flip side
Private Selection cocktail sauce is the best I've ever had and actually think any of the Private Selection items are as good or better than any others
Kroger Gold Round Tortilla chips are my preferred brand.

Here's something I dont understand about Coke. Now, the recipe for Coke syrup is kind of the gold standard for protected trade secrets. They dont let it out, and they would successfully sue the pants off anyone who leaked it, as well as those who received it.

But you have to believe the guys at Pepsi, and other soft drink makers, know exactly what is in Coca Cola. They could duplicate it, they just choose to have their own flavor instead. Right?

I think Big K Soda could make a lot of money with a carbon copy Coca Cola drink....Just dont put it in bottles with a certain distinctive shape.

I wish they'd put out a Coke, not diet, that had about half the sugar in it.

Did CocaCola ever start using real cane sugar for the US? That was newsy a year or so ago but I haven't heard anything about it since it was a big deal.

They started rolling it out in "select markets" in October. It is only available in 12 Oz. glass bottles. They say they are having supply issues with cane sugar.

Thanks. I'll have to see if I can find some. I didn't know there was a sugar shortage.

NyQuil Severe Cold & Flu -- the store brand may say it's the same stuff, but for some reason it just doesn't do the same job.

On a side note, I have found some things that the generic version was better than the name brand.

Scotch tape - I've finally beaten my wife out of buying the cheapest crap out there if she wants any help wrapping presents

Cheerios - none of that other off brand crap is close

Ruffles - I can skip french onion dip with any other chip, but Ruffles are uniquely the best and I will eat my them until they disappear

Heinz - not even a close second
Definitely Heinz. Great Value Cheerios though. Pretty close.

coke

Doritos nothing comes close

Pretty much anything branded as Mainstays is a piece of junk.

The Costco version of many of the items mentioned come pretty close to the name brand, much more so than GV or Kroger brands. Specifically the ziplock and garbage bags
2nd. I get their tall kitchen garbage bags and cannot tell a difference between them and hefty. I suspect in many cases, when these things are equivalent it's because the OEM is the same.

This is the ONLY toilet paper to buy.
Disagree. Charmin Ultra is too thick and clogs the toilet too easily.

Cottonelle has the right thickness, softness, and flushes like a dream. You're welcome. Just don't buy it all and leave some for me the next time it's going to snow.
