OT: Thunder Trades...

Good trade.
We gave up:
- Payne, as much potential as he has, he has played poorly this year. Example: 33% FG, a worse Player Efficiency Rating (PER) than Roberson, with negative VORP and very negative Box Score plus/minus (BPM).
- Morrow does one thing well and has done that thing very poorly this year, shooting 29% from 3 this year.
- Lauvergne has been a nice surprise, but in reality was our 3rd or 4th PF at this point, behind Kanter, Sabonis and Jerami Grant, and we'd be unlikely to keep him past this year anyway.
And we turned all that into:
- An actual, natural Small Forward who in a down year is shooting better than 37% from 3.
- A great, athletic & versatile defender who can defend SF-C, as well as has nice touch around rim, good rebounder, and above average mid-range jumper.
I like it.

Good Perspective, Jeff. Difficult to say Goodbye to A-Mo, who has been a Fan Favorite, but that's the Heart thinking...Not the Head...
Still get a kick out of watching Kanter fight a chair and putting his team in this position. Has anyone ever seen a worse attempt at a punch?
That was the Punch Heard 'round the World...It will take Enes a lonnnng time, if ever, to regain the level of Respect, or 'Like' that incident cost him, IMO...
I wonder if they even do this trade with a healthy Kanter playing.
A 31yo Taj Gibson? That's a gap-stop IMO.
Doug McDermott, maybe, but I don't like his dipping 3pt%.

I disagree. This deal didn't have anything to do with Kanter. Kanter was already cleared to practice when this deal was done.
Gibson is needed because Sabonis isn't quite ready yet to be a solid, consistent presence at either end. This will take some pressure of the 20 year old who has been slumping badly.
McDermott's 3 point percentage, despite a small dip this year to 37% is still light years better than Morrow's 29%. Plus McDermott can do a little more than just shoot. He can play a little D, do a little rebounding, put the ball on the floor a little, etc. All of those better than Morrow can. And he's 6 years younger & on a better contract. And Small Forward is a bigger hole for the Thunder than is SG.
This deal gives us better chance to both get a better seed for the playoffs as well as a better chance to get out of the first round.
