I can see this reasoning. I agree with you. There was so much anger in Tyson that a lot of people felt he was going to take a wrong turn. His manager, prior to Don King, kept him in check.
This...once Cus died, it was all over for Mike.

DUI is bad. But I don't see this as the scene break in a Behind The Music. Unfortunately, it's too common. If I bet you Tom Brady has had some beers or more likely popped some Vicodin before getting behind the wheel in the past three years, would you feel comfortable taking that bet? It's sad that Tiger isn't z tiger anymore, and that this happened. But they're not necessarily the same.
Fans? No. Just folks who are willing to acknowledge his greatness during his pre-prison days. Calling it like everyone in the world sees it (sans you).
I hope he never does it. Jack is/was a class act.
Won't happen. He's done and glad. He's a fraud.
IThat's never going to happen. He's not even going to catch Snead for most wins. I'm guessing he'll never win again. Maybe Senior tour someday.
He destroyed everyone except Evander Holyfield. He lost to Buster Douglas because the man was about to have his life flipped (his own fault/doing). Prior to prison, and Buster Douglas, the guy destroyed everyone put in front of him. He had no fear of boxers. None. Zippo.
Post-prison, he wasn't the same.
To dismiss him as not having a 'big name' is...well, I don't have a word for what it is. You get the point.
That's debatable. Tyson was the biggest star in sports around the time you were born. And Tyson's fall from grace (unceremoniously knocked out by Buster Douglas, prison for rape, biting Holyfield's ear) was a much larger drop than Tiger's has been.
I was a huge Tyson fan, loved what he did for the sport. He was a killer in his prime, but you can only sustain that for so long before someone finds a weak point in your game. Douglas found it and Holyfield followed.Got some Tyson fans in here....
Tiger eventually will too, he's not done with his denial stage yet.Tyson was a crud but at least he's owned up to his mistakes.

Look at Rhonda Rousey, she was unstoppable, thought to be unbeatable, til they found out she couldn't take a stiff shot to the chops, now she knows she's done because everyone's onto her.
Mike couldn't handle the thought of it, so he started biting ears off.
He's a pretty funny actor though, I think he might do well there.
Still a fan of Tyson, Rousey and Tiger though. Wish all 3 the best.
Mike Tyson says hello.
Everything this terd won should have an asterisk by it because of all the PED's he took. Dude is one of the biggest POS in the history of man.
Probably true given how big his name was.
my opinion on the matter centered around how great both were. I think Tigers fall is a lot bigger because of how incredible he was. Tyson was always gonna end up in a bad light, and imo he just wasn't that great. At least not as great as his name recognition was.
I'm glad you asked that question because I thought I missed something.Where is all this proof of roids and PED use by Tiger??
Dude is imploding!! Don't know if he will ever get his **** together again. But what's happened shouldn't diminish his accomplishments. He still had to play to win all those tournaments. At worst he is the 2nd greatest golfer to walk on earth.
Some of your opinions are comical and ignoring the facts. But when have facts ever gotten in the way of bad opinions on this board??
Tiger was certainly a greater golfer than Tyson was a boxer.
Tyson was arguably just as big of a star, albeit for a shorter time period.
Tiger's personal problems, possible substance issues, etc. pale in comparison to Tyson's antics.
Tyson bit Holyfield's ear. Tiger dropped a ball in the wrong place.
Tiger ran his car into a tree at his house. Tyson raped a beauty queen.
Tiger's struggles have been magnified because his injuries have kept him away from the game. Although if any of the PED stuff is ever confirmed, Tiger will have a Barry Bonds level black eye.
Which is a shame. Because Tiger was already a phenom when he was a skinny teenager who couldn't bench a buck 50.
Tyson is another one but he wasn't viewed in society the way Tiger was. Tyson was dangerous in and out of the ring even spending a few years in prison for rape. So most assumed he would ultimately implode, which he did.
Tiger on the other hand had been groomed for greatness in a "gentlemens" game. He seemed to have it all, elite talent, intelligence, a beautiful wife and kids, endorsements from the best of the best; he had every thing you want in this world. Now his legacy will be how he lost all of it.
I'm glad you asked that question because I thought I missed something.
I'm seeing a bunch of people saying Tiger was on PED's, but I've never heard that before. Thought I totally missed a huge story.
Can those that are saying Tiger was on PED's please link something other than heresay articles?
All this means is Tyson's troubles had a bigger wow factor when compared to Tiger's mishaps, but he was never as high on the ladder in the big picture as Tiger.Tiger was certainly a greater golfer than Tyson was a boxer.

Both hit the ground hard, but Tiger fell from a much higher place.
This is JMO of course.
...and OJ's on line 1...Mike Tyson says hello.
Don't think Tyson was ever at the heights Tiger was. Tiger was a legend, Tyson was a paper tiger.
J
Eh I don't agree. He did make boxing relevant again, but he was overrated as hell. Never beat anyone really noteworthy. He wouldn't have been a big name in most boxing decades.
Not gonna compare the two, but In his prime, I'd take Tyson over any heavy weight. Any. He was in a league of his own, and became a victim of his own undoing. (You can say the same about Tiger.)
I'm glad you asked that question because I thought I missed something.

Dude, no way you'd take Tyson over The usual list of greats. Is that what you meant?
Kids who never gave golf one second of thought were buying tiger Nike gear and clubs when I was growing up.
No one ever considered golf an athletic sport until Tiger. He changed the entire game for EVER.
Nike golf actually became relevant because of tiger. Imagine Nike golf without tiger? It never would have made a sound.
Tyson eh, not that kind of impact but I see where aike was going.
In his prime, I'd take Tyson over any heavy weight. You can disagree. We all have our own opinion, it's okay.
Will Smith sang about him and every kid I knew had Mike Tyson's Punchout.
But he didn't cause people to flock to boxing. Might have scared them away, if anything.
You don't actually think Tyson was clean, do you?PEDs. Put on charade that he was a family man and nice guy. Yeah ok.
Punch out will go down as the greatest game for sure. Top 5 no doubt.
LMAO I thought you were older than that.007 373 5963
The code straight to Tyson.

It was the golden age of steroids.
