OT: Top of the Hops ??

I was out of town and unable to make it, how was it this year?
Are there any new beers coming to MS and were they able to sneak in any above the 6% alcohol content?
Our beer laws are killing our selection here in MS. Why are we always the last state in the nation in everything except obesity and heart disease?

Here are a few I have in my fridge right now that were probably not at The Top of The Hops..

There was a new Louisiana brewery, but I don't remember the name. Widmer was there (don't think they were last year). <div>

All of their beer is ****. Natty Light is better than their stuff. Their smoked wheat is the worst beer I've ever had.

Their Pale Ale is not bad and they have a fruity beer, Grenade, that my wife likes...

I had the pale ale at Herbsaint in New Orleans. It was very good. I can't speak for the rest of their stuff.

The fruit beer tastes likeSkittles. Not a fan. The pale ale is just ok. If that's the winner of the bunch, I'll stick to anything else. You should try the Boucanee. It's so bad that everyone needs to try it once. It's like a really bad piece of smoked pork. One of the few beers I've ever had to pour out.

The smoked beer was dreadful. The other stuff was fine, but nothing special.

But it's hard to estimate with people coming and going. I doubt I'll attend in year three if something doesn't change. $42 for a ticket to try a bunch of beers I've already had. But, it is really fun.

Crowd was about the same - think they sell a limited number of tickets. I would agree with others that the Bayou Teche Boucanee was too smokey to enjoy. Altho, they did have a fair crowd around their booth all day. Crowds around Yazoo and around Diamond Bear. The Yazoo Hop Project is still pretty good. Unless the Mississippi laws change I may not go next year. I tried to drink only the beers I had never had. Turned out this was a real struggle this year.They did have a couple of Flying Dogs and a Shipyard or two. Also, a new one on me, Strangford Lough.
