Before Musk: Accounts reposting videos produced and posted by adult liberals promoting drag queens stripping in front of kids, hospitals providing gender reassignment surgury to 5 year olds, and all other kinds of crazy abuse of minors = OMG - Same as terrorism - this is crime!

After Musk: Mainstream journalists showing how to find EXACTLY where Musk and his family are in real time = THIS IS FREE SPEECH!!!

Replace EU with USA and that would be a 1A issue. That would be the state infringing on Musk's 1A right.

Funny, I don't remember any threatened sanctions before Musk. I must have not been paying attention.

The article on cnn's page tells the same story/same slant. In cnn's other news,

TikTok might be too big to ban, no matter what lawmakers say

Kinda tells you all ya need to know.

Lmao correct

So do you not agree it’s a private company or do you want federal government to regulate social media? So called free martlet advocates who think they are making deep points regarding this topic are the liberals imo

Musk bought the company so he can do what he wants with it. Objectively, though, it's quite hypocritical for him to say that he was going to turn Twitter into a space for open free speech and then ban and suspend all of these reporters. I genuinely don't care about this situation so please don't come at me angry trying to present your side because I do not care.

Hard to disagree with much here. It's all goofy

They broke a rule that he warned them about. Transparent enforcement. Journalists have to play by the same rules as everyone else.

Libs will need to get used to that.

Did I say that I didn't care because I think I said I didn't care.

You posted about it so you obviously care. You just can't defend your take.
My take was, he can do what he wants but it's objectively hypocritical. That is a take that is easy to defend. I couldn't care less what happens to Twitter, life goes on whether it succeeds or not, whether it's owned by the left or right. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy, that is all.

Transparent, fair, and equal treatment under the rules is not hypocrisy. You libs are just too used to being special.

Yeah - the realization is that you can't have a free for all space on the internet, with as nuts as people are, and make it a business. It will eventually get sued, shut down, regulated, etc. In a true town hall, most people would keep it somewhat civil and the one's who didn't would get their asses kicked. Hard to do that over the internet.

What needs to happen is for Musk to define where the line is drawn. Then, this is the important part, enforce the policy across the board - regardless of politics, followers, fame, friendship. If he can establish those basic guidelines and enforce those who are blatantly in violation, that's about all you can hope for.

You don't get what I'm saying. I'm talking about how he said that when he bought Twitter that he was going to make it a space wide open for free speech and called himself a free speech absolutist or whatever and then turn around and ban/suspend accounts. It has nothing to do with left vs right or whatever you're trying to talk about, I'm saying that is hypocritical to say that you're going to do something and then do the exact opposite.

Idacat is a moron who is trying desperately to justify the actions he supports in order to fit his argument.

Elon proudly supported FREE SPEECH, and *specifically* mentioned the @elonjet account as one he would protect. Then he completely changed his mind, gave conflicting reasons on why he banned that account, and rewrote the terms of service in order to justify the ban. This is literally the same bs the previous management did to support banning Donald Trump's account. If you actually believe in FREE SPEECH, then *neither* is acceptable. The fate was predetermined, and they changed the rules to justify it.

Now he's even vowed to go after the owner of that account personally, and has threatened to sue him for his actions. So 1 month ago he was a FREE SPEECH absolutist, and today he's banning it and suing people who doesn't like for using their 1st amendment. 🤣 🤣

Some of you beta cucks sitting around begging a different multi billionaire oligarch to save your life really are pathetic. But good luck with your new hero.

Helping to protect people's physical safety (including his family) on the platform is not a free speech issue unless you lack principles of basic human decency.

That was before his child was attacked on the street. He probably didn't know how low the left would go.
