They released a series of novels that was based on the Woodbury group and how the Governor came to be in power. They were pretty good, i would imagine that this could have some potential also.

Agreed BMT. It probably won't be any good, but I'll watch every second. Give me Walking Dead series, spinoffs, webisodes, comics, video games, and books until I get sick of it. Then release spin offs of all of the above.

I'm sick and tired of my favorite TV shows being split into half seasons with months in between.

Where did TWD leave off? Merle turned into a biter and Darryl killed him. Was that it?

I don't remember what other plot threads there were and where they left off. And frankly, good as that series is, I could take it or leave it at this point due to the season-splitting.

My emotional attachment to it is just too shallow because of that. They give me a couple of bites to eat and then starve me for months before the next couple bites. Screw that, there is other stuff to be interested in.

That said, I'll still watch it. Which is what they wanted. They win. Dammit.

I hope the Netflix model for TV series takes off. That's where a whole series is released at once for streaming. I don't see AMC doing that since they are broadcast oriented.

The point is the broadcasters ought to be a lot more oriented towards giving their viewers what they want instead of using them as pawns for calendar timing. Viewers (consumers) will win out eventually...just ask the RIAA who fought mp3s religiously until it became obvious they were going to lose that battle.

TWD is in a serious downward spiral, quality-wise.

I hope they can turn it around, because it really was a very good show at first, but after last season I’m about ready to give up on it.

They could really go all over the place with this plot. I have long thought it would be neat to have a series set in different parts of the Country or world. They could make 10 series and I would probably watch each of them.

I have the opposite viewpoint - I love the twice a year seasons

One, you get more shows per year (16 vs 13). Two, I would much rather go 4 months without my favorite shows twice a year than 9 months at a time annually.

About that, in every preview for this season I haven't seen the first sign of the governor. And to show how interested I was in last season I can't even tell you how Andrea died today. Can't say that about BrBa. I could tell you any detail going back to s1

The more I think about it...the quality of this all depends on the casting.

I know that's an obvious statement, but with out the right cast in the current one it would be a joke.

same here... I actually started watching TWD before I started BrBa this year... To say that TWD was a blip on my radar by the end of season one of BrBa is an understatement. I continued watching TWD because the wife did not really watch BrBa because she didn't think she would enjoy the subject matter. BrBa is on a different level... to say the least...

I agree Breaking Bad is many times over better than TWD.

I think I remember reading that TWD lost its creators or some important creative people after a season or two. AMC is known for booting a show's best creative influences to save a buck and milk the show for seasons more.

Yeah they got rid of frank darabont(sp?) who was a producer and had a big influence. I think he was only around for the first season

That explains a lot, actually. Darabont was the major influence of The Shawshank Redemption. There was a lot of that influence in the first season that hasn't been there lately. Its a good show, just not on the level of

I've been re-watching Lost with the wife, and mourn for the days when there were 22 or more episodes in a season.
As an aside, Lost is much better when you can watch episodes in quick succession. That annoying habit they had of switching settings every other episode or so isn't nearly as much of a problem when you haven't waited two weeks between the last update for a certain setting.
