All of my American Indian artifacts are surface finds on private land. Most of the Civ items were metal detected on private land…minus a few surface items.

You said you had some teeth. Possession of native American remains is a serious crime.

This particular area is an old town built on top of an Indian village. It could be a farmers teeth, slave or could also be veneers. Who knows.
I had a dentist look at them and he said they were fake teeth. I’ll gladly hand them over to anyone interested.

I have a WW2 wall in my man cave, and bought a captured rising sun flag for it at auction some years back. It's signed (with hometown/addresses) by 1st Cav guys from when they retook the Philippines, and I got it in hand to discover that one of the signees was a relative of mine, and another signee lived just a few miles from me. Unfortunately the latter passed before I could reach out.

I have a LC Smith double barrel shotgun that belonged to my great grandfather. My Dad had it restored. Wouldn't part w/it for any amount of money.
I'd love to see some photos of your LC. Although it still sitting in my gun safe, my son is the owner of my great grandfather's LC Smith double barrel. He had a gunsmith go over it several years before he passed away. As far as I know, there was no work required on it and he just wanted to be sure it was safe to shoot. He and my son shot some clays with it before he passed on.

Hijacking the thread, we have a winner.

I already asked my mom and she said it was okay. Can I come over to your house to see your cool maps and stuff?!

Seriously, your man cave or office or wherever you keep these sounds awesome. What's the oldest map you have?
Love to have you take a look if you're ever in CO! Be forewarned, it's a pretty contagious hobby.

This is the oldest one that I have. The other four of the colonies/early US are all from 1780-1799, and one of them is of Colorado territory (Mexico) from 1840.

My favorite one is from 1799, and is by an Italian cartographer. It includes a bunch of fictional islands in the Great Lakes named after French royalty, because the explorer who commissioned it was trying to get additional funding for another trip back.

We have a great map store in Denver. But, we go to NM a lot, and this is where I've gotten most of mine- https://williamtalbotfineart.com/

The map collector's world is very interesting.

That gun sounds awesome. Must have been fun to shoot. I’ve got my great great grandfather’s Winchester Model 1873 lever action, octagon barrel 32-20. It has fantastic dark patina on the stock and the barrel is in really good shape. It’s one of the sweetest shooting guns I’ve ever used. We shoot it a good bit but the rounds are of course expensive.
This shotgun belonged to my maternal grandfather who passed away before I was born. Back in the early 70's my mother wrote Remington to see if she could get some info about the gun and find where to buy shells. Remington wrote back and basically said "What the hell are you talking about? We've never heard of such". She took polaroids of it on a white sheet and wrote down all of the numbers she could find on it and contacted them again. After a while we heard back from them about the history of the gun. I believe they also said you could only get 24 gauge shells in Europe so we've never fired it.

That clay shoot will hold some special memories for your son.
This one was in good shape prior to the resto and in perfect working condition. The resto was mainly for aesthetic purposes. I do remember shooting it when I was a youngster and that thing kicked like a mule. I'll try to find some photos.

A door and quarter panel from the man that was the best there was at the time in dirt late model racing, Bill Frye, from 1995.

They are correct you can only get 24 gauge in Europe. I come across one every now and then when looking at antique shotgun auctions in England. You don't see them often probably once every other year at the big auctions but the shells are somewhat available in France from what I'm told.

You can get them in the USA.

But I would have a competent gunsmith inspect the gun first. And I don't mean one of these "gunsmiths" that slaps together mail order AR-15 parts.

I have a whitetail deer mount that was at one time the Mississippi non typical State record at 204 6/8” along with the framed Boone and Crocket record certificate. Also have a 6x7 elk mount that I got in 22. I have a pre 64 model 70 Winchester in 300 H and H. It is from 1955 and belonged to my Grandfather along with the leather horse rifle scabbard that he used on hunts all over the West.
