Most of this information might have been derived from the Odor River basin, so I apologize in advance.

Does anyone know what is going in on the corner of 12 and Montgomery? (next to Capt D's)

What is going in where Barnhill's was? I've heard it's an IHOP. Any truth to that?

Are there any plan for the lot on the corner of 12 and Vine to be developed? I think there was a Backyard Burger there in the mid 90s.

Is the Beef O'Bradys still a go?

Any truth to a rumor that Five Guys coming to to town?

I've heard that Five Guys is stalled. Not exactly dead, just in limbo at the moment.

Either the old Barnhill building or the old bank building (Hwy12 & Montgomery) was torn down simply to reduce
insurance and tax costs. I don't remember which one, though. A new business was supposedly going into the other
location, but I don't know what.

I'm guessing that since there's nothing on the Beef O-Brady's lot but a sign, that it's probably not happening.

Another gas station is going on the corner of 12 and Montgomery.

There isn't any truth to the IHOP. That lot is still for sale. They demolished the building simply to make the property more commercially attractive.

Beef O Brady's is still a go from everything I have heard.

No idea about 5 Guys or the corner at Vine.

I asked about Five Guys on the Five Guys - Mississippi FB page. Here's what they said:

"We are still planning on opening a Five Guys in Starkville. We did have a deal that didn't work out but it is just a setback."

Five Guys would be a nice addition. Their burgers are greasy and delicious.

What happened with the on-campus Denny's? An idiot would put an IHOP right off campus with that being on campus and kids being able to spend their meal plans on it.

Everything everyone has said is true, except this is the first I'm hearing about the gas station. Not saying its not true, I just hadn't heard that until just now.

God, I wish that Firehouse would have been a Jimmy John's instead.

The only thing I've heard is what THE Bruce Dickinson said. Another Sprint Mart is going in at the corner of 12 and Montgomery.

Has anyone else heard whispers of Cracker Barrel coming?

ETA: Don't know why this post wound up here. I clicked "reply to thread."

Back in the day, Bulldog and Shake out on Hwy 12 met those needs. One of their burgers on a Friday for lunch was a perfect cure for Thursday evening's shenanigans.

The Five Guys in Ridgeland is nice but I prefer Blue Rooster in Flora and Burgers and Blues.

Firehouse Subs just opened up next to Umi..

What this town needs is a dough-burger joint.. Or maybe that's just the Northeast MS in me talking.

What is a dough-burger? You didn't use caps, so I assume it's not a restaurant (using the term loosely).

They're called slugburgers in Corinth, but doughburgers in Tupelo.. They're somewhat different.

A dough-burger is a mixture of beef (and sometimes pork) with bread and deep-fried. Not the healthiest things in the world but if you're ever in Booneville, MS, you gotta hit up Willie Week's.
