It was sixty-six years ago today...

On July 6, 1957, 16 year old John Lennon first met 15 year old Paul McCartney at a garden party at a Liverpool church. They found they had common interests, and we know the rest.

Let us never be afraid to meet new people. You never know.

Not a huge Beatle's fan, but I do realize their greatness and do find them an interesting study.

And I've heard people say, "if it wasn't the Beatle's it would have been someone else", because I guess the timing was right, TV-Radio-ascension ofRock and Roll, and maybe they would have been created by the powers that be.

And maybe that's true, at least in terms of the early popularity of the band, but the true greatness, which is of course the music it produced, was not something that "somebody else" would have invariably happened upon.

Anyways, this is just me sitting on the couch smoking a bowl and typing out some ramblings.

@crockpics is a great follow on Twitter. Regardless of people's feelings on the "platform," I get a lot of great stuff from Twitter, sans the stuff people argue about. If you follow @crockpics, just be sure to include the "r" after the "c" in their name, otherwise, you might get something different!

My Grandmother, about 10 years older than the members of the Beatles, was born and raised just up the road from Woolton in Gateacre, Liverpool.
