If you thought about doing it but didn't go Saturday - I highly recommend it if one comes to your area. Had a blast yesterday. Would have been nice if it was 10 degree warmer, but the actual dash was awesome. Was easy enough that you really don't even have to be in shape to do it, but still challenging enough to be enjoyable if you are in good shape. For someone that's semi-afraid of heights, that muddy warrior wall about got the best of me - just knew I was going to fall & break a leg.<div>
</div><div>I'll definitely be signing up if they come back to Jackson next year or maybe the Memphis area. </div>

I had a great time. Like you said, I wish it were about 10 degrees warmer and the beers/food weren't so damn expensive.

It was a blast. Already making plans to do it again next year. If you are looking for the most physicallygruelingendevour of you life, look elsewhere. But if you want to watch 1000s of hot chicks run through mud, it's a good dig. The obstacles are the easy part. Nothing about them are hard. But they do break up the running.I am in no kind of shape, but was able to easily do it with the flow of the crowd. <div>
</div><div>TONS of State students, fans and alumni there. Even the local volunteers working the event were mostly State fans. I ran with a MSU shirt on and I can't even count how many times I heard #hailstate.<div>
</div><div>Rumor I heard was 10,000 people signed up. I'd say 95% of those where 18-25. It was a great crowd and this being their time, I think they pulled it off really well. But like someone already mentioned, the food and drink are "stadium priced".</div> </div>

I did it with about eight of my co-workers who were in varying degrees of shape, and we kind of did it together, so my competitive level was about a 2 on a scale of 10 for this thing. We just had a good time.

The wall was the only thing I really had trouble with- and it was because the rope was so muddy, I kept slipping off and couldn't get a grip. One of the guys I was with is in the Army and he couldn't get a grip on the rope either- and they do those obstacles all the time- so I felt better. They threw down a clean rope and I didn't have a problem.

I thought it was a lot of fun.

I did it and have never ran as much as a 5k. It was a blast. I did it at 8 so maybe the conditions were better but I was worried about the obstacles for nothing in my opInion. It was easier than expected although hard as hell.

The last 1/2 mile was awful and draining. The wall a 8 was nothing really (I assume your taking about the rope wall)

I am 42, out of shape and weigh 245. I had so much fun and my only goal was to finish.

My wife did t too and looks like I beat her. Her arms and legs are black and blue.

Glad I'm not the only one with rope difficulties. Muddy hands and muddy rope = failure on my part. Will get it next year! More of an excuse for adults to play in the mud than a race.

We were about mid morning and the ropeswere slick as snot. You had to climb it using just the boards that had mud caked up on them. A couple of guys slipped & fell from about 5ft off the ground when I was going over it. Seemed like about half the people were bypassing it.</p>

that swollen bastard!

It was the only Dash I've done but I heard a bunch of folks talking about how it was the best one they had been too. A guy told me he went to one in Nashville that was pretty much a 5K on a gravel road, plus some obstacles.

They do an incredible marketing job on it. Promoting it as some sort of survivalist, military style, race of life or death type thing. I was expecting a 5k+ with some tires and rope swings. So, it was more challenging than I expected, but not near what they hype it to be. The mud pits were awesome. Busted my *** quite a few times. The wet clay coming out of them made for some funny wipe outs as well. I completely ate it after the three water pits. Got out, posed for the camera, turned around to yell at my friends behind me and did a Charlie Brown trying to kick the football.

Managed to do all the obstacles, too. The rope wall did suck, but if you could hang onto it and get close to the wall, it wasn't too bad. I'll definitely sign up again if it comes back.

Our bus almost fell into the swamp on the road in that morning because the driver went too close to the side of the road.Nice little adventure to start the day...
<div>
</div><div>I ran at 10:30 and that rope was useless by that point... muddy hands + muddy rope = no traction. I was able to loop it and scale up the wall pretty quickly, though. The obstacles broke up the running pretty well, so it never got too monotonous. Swimming with shoes and a mask/cape on was a little more challenging than I thought, but I managed.</div><div>
Ran with a guy 10 years younger than me and beat him by a few minutes... he took off at the start and I never saw him again so I figured he finished well ahead of me, but apparently not.

Had a blast doing it and the wall was tough. As someone mentioned we had to use the planks to climb it and be very careful. A bigger girl in front of me fell from close to the top of it and made me pretty nervous about climbing it at that point, but did it anyhow. Thinking about stepping it up a level and signing up for the Tough Mudder this fall in Missouri. That should be fun

I did the TM in Georgia this February. It was 40 degrees with 30 mph wind. Several went to hospitals/ambulance with hypothermia. I probably had mild hypothermia...but damn it, I finished. It was absolutely miserable. But you will be glad you did it. I probably will again....just not in February.

Unless you are a Crossfit Nazi, you will have to train your *** off. Even with training, it is just as much a test of mental strain. But again, GREAT experience. Get a group of friends together and go for it.
