I think there’s something more to this (based on the pictures in the article) like alcohol/drug impairment or Etute is perhaps a switch hitter & keeping that a secret. Otherwise how can the defendant Etute, not know that Smith was a dude—unless he’s practically blind which means he’d be tackling his own players on the field based on this kind of a mess up?

I was wondering about it myself, after seeing the article a day or two back. I know he hooked up on the dating app, but was taken back on how the player wouldn't have known it was a dude giving him a BJ on the first hookup. Haven't seen picture of the deceased, but maybe they hooked up in the dark.

Same person as the first hook up? Maybe dude was going to go public? Who knows what really happened? Why get so engaged that tou kill someone when you could just walk out? This is really weird.

Actually thought he had some upside
Perfect LB for the Big 12

Ended up committing to VA Tech. When I first saw the name took me a few seconds to remember who he was

I kinda suspect he knew the entire time but something went badly and he did what he did...assuming the victim was trans?

In regards to lying about gender with a sex partner, that is teetering on nonconsensual sex...think if it went the other way, and a lesbian woman became sexual with someone she thought was also a woman, but found out later it was actually man/trans. IMO, there is a problem there and I think it could legally hover near non-consent.

New problems for a new world, laws take time to catch up with the changes of society.

Careful Darth, you are speaking bigotry there. And by bigotry, I mean logic.

Possibly.

This is called a mitigating factor.
Could help with the charge itself but doesn’t take away from a crime being committed.

Looked like a killer on the field when he was a recruit. Could cover a lot of ground for a guy his size
Pretty sure his victim felt the same

He will be lucky if they don’t charge him with second degree murder even with those mitigating factors.

I think Murder 2 most likely.

The Tinder chats and photos might confirm or dispute his story.

I don’t know the VA penal code. Was it VA. I believe the kid was from Maryland originally. Second degree and manslaughter is a huge difference. Basically based on if there was a threat and your actions. Doesn’t look like it at all. Especially since he stomped him after being on the ground. Manslaughter would be you getting into a fight and guy hitting his head on something while failing to the ground

Sad because I saw a potential football player who could be playing on Sundays.

Yeah he broke every bone in his face, not manslaughter.
