I drive a 2006 Mustang. Just a few months after buying it new, if I ran it to where the fuel level was below a quarter of a tank It would not take a complete fill up. I had to just put in the max it would take, about 5 gallons, run it a while then fill it up completely. The buzz on the net said this is a common problem and is due to something about the saddle tanks. I read a recent thread about this and some were saying if I turned the fuel nozzle 180 degrees from the normal position it would probably take a fill up. Tried it today and it worked. Please don't ask me why that worked, because I don't have any idea and can't even guess why it did. I have no no knowledge of the physical layout of the tanks, connecting apparatus, etc. At this time though, I'll take one out of one.

I'd be willing to bet you took a look around to see if anybody was watching you put a gas nozzle in your tank neck upside down, I know I would....................

A wise man once said that you’ll never meet a virgin driving a Z28, the same goes for Mustangs!

We get it, you have a Mustang. If you want to show off, go to a Walmart and sit on the hood like a real American.***

You guys are making fun but you're gonna be real glad you know this vital info next time you're driving a 2006 Mustang.

@SwampDawg can you speak to whether this trick works if I drive a Pontiac?

I must admit I did, but the sound of all that gas going through took my mind off of it.

This fix is on multiple threads on the net, but all I've seen is for Ford products in that approximate year. Can't hurt to try it.
