What was the FM station out of Jackson in the late 80's that signed off with American Pie? When I was flying with the army guard they would always play led zep IV for us.

THANK YOU for this

It all started with WJDX FM 102.9 (The Rock) if I remember correctly. It was one of 3 "album rock" stations in the country I think. And yes Gregg Allman WAS AND STILL IS THE MAN. The Allman's were never duplicated. Other southern bands were good in their own way but NONE took Black Delta blues and injected it with southern fired Rock. They were integrated from the start and Duane had the "more the merrier" mentality....he just wanted to play. Thank you again for this.....it gave me chill bumps......

I was a big Fogleberg fan because of them. To borrow a line from Iris Dement "just like they say nothing good ever lasts. "

I didn't make the one in city auditorium but made all of the other Fogelberg concerts at the coliseum. Bought all his first four albums at Bebop. You are right, Fogelberg was a Jackson fav in his early career and ZZQ gave him a lot of airtime.

Fogelberg's death was really a tragedy. The guys was deathly afraid of doctors

and never got a checkup his entire life supposedly. He died from Prostate Cancer that was not discovered until very late stages. He was still a young guy. Damn good artist.
