One of my co-workers is an OU alum and donor. He is fairly connected. I received this text from him this morning concerning Selmon. I know if OU wants him, we can’t stop it, but at least we are making an effort.

“My neighbor, ex OU assistant, talked to Zac Selmon's dad. He said Miss St doing everything to keep him there in case he is offered the OU job. He is the local favorite to get it but I think politics may weigh heavy.”

I thought everybody was ready to get rid of him. Then he hired a baseball coach, and some did a 180. How about a football coach?

He wouldn’t be the first MSU AD to become AD at OU.

For a Quick Ten Points, who was that former MSU AD?

If he leaves its a possibility we part ways with a head coach a year early
Not if the new guy takes the same kid gloves hands off approach as Selmon did with Lemonis. Lebby is a long way from a Natty but if this season goes similar to last season, football won't be unlike '22 and '23 baseball were and the trigger needs to be pulled

He got fundraising going which was the number one reason he was hired. Coaching search in football is a crap shoot. Look at LSU. All the money for staff, nil and still can't win a natty with a good coach but somehow orgy gets them one

Like a fly when you pull off it's wings. Wait, what, y'all never did that?
How about catch to roaches, tear the left legs off of one and the right legs off the other, put them on the floor and watched them struggle when they bump into each other.

Yeah. This won't be in Mississippi State's control at all.
Yea, its totally in OU's control. If he's offered he's gone, its just that simple. Its alright though, MSU is secretly taking over the SEC. If Selmon goes to OU we will have installed over 25% of the SEC with former MSU ADs (Alabama, Florida, Auburn and Oklahoma). Its all part of the plan. :)

He hired a great baseball coach and he gets credit for that. It still doesn't unscrew some other stuff. But he gets credit for that and for his fundraising.

I’m not convinced how much of his fundraising is actual cash & how much is vague & mostly unenforceable “promises to give”. But yeah. Overall I’d be glad to be rid of him if I had any confidence in Keenum making the next hire. We’ll see how he handles the Lebby situation in December. Will it be a repeat of baseball 2 years ago or baseball this year?

The Bulldog club reorganization was pretty significant...no longer is good ole boy longevity the driving factor in Bulldog Club Rank ...it's all about current giving ..especially capital or unrestricted giving ....
