Ouch.. 8.5pt underdogs tonight

Tonight will give us a preview of what we will look like in SEC play. Matchup wise, UNLV has the better talent. I'm interested to see how we battle adversity especially on the road and in their home city. A win tonight would go a long way in giving this young team serious confidence. A bad loss could have negative effects. Sure hope we can bury a few 3's tonight and hit our free throws when we need em.
Technically it's a neutral game at the Orleans Arena, not the T&M Center. This is sort of like the Utah State game to me. I don't really have expectations of beating a decent (not great) UNLV team anywhere in LV. What I want to do is take their best shot and not fold up. If that leads to a win, then that's outstanding. If not, let's compete for 40 minutes and not punch each other in the stands.
I haven't seen UNLV play this year, but their statistics are not jaw-dropping. They have a couple of bigs both averaging nearly a double double, so of course that's a concern. There's also a guard who loves to shoot from three (72 three attempts, 30 two attempts). Good chance Smith has a big game for them - there are three of them.
