Is looking pretty good so far!
QB- We're going to have to fight for Rivers, but I think we have a decent shot at him.
O-line- We've got Nick Redmond who looks like a good pick-up, sounds like we are about to get James Maiden who may play on this side of the ball- and let me say that I like that we are getting versatile athletes that can possibly play several positions. Just put the best 22 on the field. I'd like to get the guys from Callaway- Morris and Bell and then Knox from West Lauderdale.
TE- Rufus Warren looks like a guy that could develop into a legit, solid SEC player at 6'5" 238. Knox can possibly play TE as well.
WR- This is a huge area of need. I'd love to get Tobias Singleton because he would fit into Dan's offense perfectly with Chad Bumphis and Micheal Carr. Ditto for Nick Brassell. Unfortunately, I'm afraid we won't get them. I like Joe Morrow to, and I think we are maybe making up some ground with him. However, I do like Devin Fosselman, and I like Devante Scott from Louisiana. I'd still like to sign as many WR's as we can- five would be great- because of the depth in the state and the fact that it's an area of need.
RB- I honestly can't think of very many RB's that I would really like to have, and I'm not sure that there's really much of a need for us to get one with Conner, LaDerius Perkins, Matthew Wells, and Nick Griffen. If we spent a scholarship on another WR, I wouldn't bat an eye.
DL- Maiden can play here to. I feel OK about our d-line situation for the short term at least with Cox, Boyd, Virges, McKenzie, Euells, and Skinner. Maybe pick up PJ Jones from Tupelo, Cortez Hartzog from Gulfport, and Dora from West Point.
LB- C J Johnson is a huge pick-up for us, and a guy that can maybe come in and play right away. Marcus Mayers from Taylorsville would be a nice pick up as well, as would Trae Johnson from Mendenhall.
DB- Jermaine Whitehead is another nice pick up for us. Zach Jackson could help on either side of the ball as well. Darion Arrington would make this a very nice DB class for us, along with Marino Daggan.
K/P- We may go the walk-on route here, but I think this is going to be a need with Hutchins and Brauchle and DePasquale graduating.
LS- This is the ONE position that can make or break a team. This is a huge need. I will go on a post-LSU tirade if Dan screws this up.
I think we can get most of the guys I mentioned. Singleton and Brassell our low on my confidence meter right now. Morrow is slightly higher, but not high enough that I feel good about it. I think we're 50/50 with Rivers, PJ Jones, and Trae Johnson.
