Our hitting might suck but our pitching is ridiculous...

What has to happen for us to make a regional? We are 27-17 right now.

Huge series next weekend with Bama.

Unless some crazy **** happens in the standings. 2 at Bammer, and at least 2 in the last two series combined.

We need to win the series against Bama and not get swept against in the last 2 series and we should be ok. <div id="myEventWatcherDiv" style="display:none;"></div>

..we are now working on a 2 seed.

I looked at 3 or 4 regional projections this week & they all had MSU as a 3 seed.

Sweep Bama & get hot down the stretch, & we'll be in the hosting conversation.

Laughing at all the idiots who thought the sky was falling a few weeks ago when we were injured and hadn't played the easier teams yet.

we have to win all three of our non-conference games, win the series against Bama- although I've heard their RPI is actually fairly decent, and then take at least one from UF and one from UK.

That would put us at 14 SEC wins and 34 wins overall going into the SEC Tournament.

Playing Ky at home gives us a slight chance to win two. The Bama series is huge plus we don't need to get sweep by Florida.

I think we're in a regional at this point. The question is will we go as a #2 or a #3 seed (and yes, it does matter). And yes, the pitching has been ridiculous lately. Reminds me of the 1985 team when Skip Bertman said when you play Mississippi State you just hope you can salvage the Sunday game.

Get some guys healthy and we have a chance for something special THIS year. This team has very good pitching/defense, that seems to be really coming together and they will be good in tournament play.

This koolaid is tasting pretty good with a little russian standard in it. :)

by predicting the record needed in your remaining games. Including the game today, we had 13 games left, so he is saying we need to finish 6-7 to end the season. But it could change daily depending on what others do. So if you look at it later this week, it may not necessarily say we need to finish our last 12 games at 5-7, could be 6-6 or 4-8, etc.

It also doesn't take into account how you do inyour conference tournament. But with a win today plus 2 games with MVSU and 3 at Bama, you've got to think we're a close to alock for the NCAA tournament.

Our RPI, after Sunday's win, is 27, according to WarrenNolan.com. We basically jumped nearly 10 points in one day. We need to win 2 of 3 at Alabama this weekend. If we lose the series, it would be a big disappointment, but anyone expecting a sweep on the road with us struggling offensively, may be fooling themselves. We will be better than them on Friday on the mound, but will need to hit the ball. If we lose the Friday game with Stratton, it could be a very long weekend.

If we continue to pitch like we have the last 2 weeks, we could defninitely sweep Bama. If the pitching falters, any weekend could be a long weekend for us.

May be waiting a while on that... But seriously, with our pitching staff, we should be a good tournament team.

If you have to choose between pitching well or hitting well, you take pitching 10 out of 10 times. The only problem with that is one bad outing by one pitcher that usually throws well can be the entire ballgame.

We don't posses the ability to score many runs or make any type of real comeback after getting down.

As long as our pitching holds up we should be OK. We need to hope that goes well and hope that there are no more injuries. We have been bitten bad by the injury bug and anymore at this point in the season could spell disaster.

We do have good pitching though. <div>
</div><div>I'm pretty pleased with this team right now. This is a rebuilding year, and it shows in a lot of ways, but we're tough and fight for wins. I hope we can keep it up, we really have to heal up and start getting some hits somewhere. It really shouldn't be hard to plan against our team, really... someone is going to figure it out.</div><div>
</div><div>I kinda hate our pitchers don't have a great offense to go with them, but in a way that probably motivates them too.</div>

To finish to top 45 we need to finish 6-7 (5-7 after today)

So for 8 more wins......logically 3-0 non conference, 2-1 Bama, 1-2 UF, 2-1 KY.

Not impossible but certainly no guarantee with two road series and two series against basically Top 5 teams.

With our potent offense we certainly don't need the Central Arkansas or Valley pitcher to have a career night.

It would be tough to be left home with a top 32 RPI but not impossible. Ask LSU.
