This is one way that MSU and Ole Miss could possibly co-exist.....

....and both actually be decent in football.

It seems like Ole Miss is concentrating their efforts in other states and trying to cherry-pick Mississippi, once again. Same thing they've been doing since Orgeron got there and they all become obsessed with recruiting. Except Orgeron succeeded in winning the State of Mississippi, which put them over the edge. Now, we have won the state and still are except for 2011. Seems they are going even harder out of state. May pay off for them, may not. Seems like their instate commits are only guys who have ties to them. I eventually see Conner signing there as well.

MSU on the other hand continues to sign the meat of Mississippi and tend to stay close-by when looking out of state, or somewhere that we have an 'in' like with Cord Sandberg. We tend to take a local guy over the out of state guy. Mullen is definitely staying within that 5 hour radius like he said he would, and I'm glad, since there's plenty of talent to be had in Memphis, Louisiana and Alabama. We don't go for the star power very often it seems.

Two very different strategies, neither is better or worse. Be interesting to see how it plays out. I like our brand at this point. Not saying Ole Miss' won't work, but I still think they'll have trouble beating other states on their own turf.

Noticing that only 7 Dandy Dozen players made the roster? 8 if you count Gabe Myles. No * next to his name?
Derick Jones from Eupora has an * next to his name?

Anyways missing are
- Davion Johnson OL Byhalia
- Daronte Bouldin OL Canton
- Montreal Jordan DB Philadelphia
- Ryan Buchanan QB Jackson Prep

What gives here and whats the status on the other 3. (I hear about Buchanan here in Jackson)

Think ole Talty screwed that up......

....I know that guy's not an Ole Miss homer (he's from the Northeast or something) but he sure does cater to them. Not sure if that's because of the newspaper or he's just around their stories more. It's interesting to say the least.

Montreal Jordan's stock has dropped significantly after the summer camps, so I can see why he didn't make it.

I am shocked that both the Ole Miss OL commitments didn't make the list. Ole Miss shouldn't be shocked that they had less than we did; they have a lot less HS commitments from the state. But I still don't see how you leave two SEC OL commitments off the list when there are players who don't have any D-1 offers that made it.

Probably because they are taking performance into account....

...and not projection on the next level. One would think they'd be one and the same, but I guess not.

Either that or the Ole Miss guys are overrated. Objectivity says it's likely the first one.
