The ncaa committee specifically values non conference performance

Yet the same posters continue to say it doesn't matter

Mississippi State had an ok resume but not great...but they beat Marquette and TCU..it matters when you have other warts

Providence did nothing ooc but didnt have bad losses

You cannot check two red flag boxes and we did
who didn’t nc state beat in non conference of note? they played in atlantis and lost to kansas and beat butler and dayton. not exactly murderers row. they played no one else and have no marquee wins away from home,m. 1 quad one win all year

Go 20-13 with our schedule and there are no issues.

Upgrade our schedule and go 17-16 and you don’t get in either.

We needed more depth and couldn’t afford Mag injury it wasn’t the schedule.

If we lost Gonzaga instead of Temple thats 3 q3 losses

Its 70 spots higher than Rutgers

Is Kansas garbage..we played Temple and lost
We’re 7-8 against the field.
I think they’re 3-4.
Our overall schedule is better and you know it.
Look at Utah State’s OOC schedule. This whole think stinks

Its both

314 is indefensible so are we okay with ****** schedules every year

Every other big 10 school plays in neutral site tourneys

Are we special
Carino - "In the end, the warts on Rutgers’ resume – principally four Quad 3 losses, an unprecedented amount for an at-large selection – held the day. A non-conference stretch of schedule ranked 342s out of 363 teams surely didn’t help, either. And once again, following a trend in recent years, the selection committee appears to have tuned out championship week as it pertains to at-large selection, meaning Rutgers Big Ten Tournament win over Michigan and hard-fought loss to top-seeded Purdue fell on deaf ears."

342 out of 363 is absolutely obscene.

Now this i agree with

Thats why you have to never give them reasons to keep you out

4th year i said this..bit us this year

There is no defense of a 314 rated ooc sos
1. Don’t have OOC schedule ranked in the 300s.
2. Don’t lose 14 games.
3 Don’t squander a 10 point lead with a minute left vs. the last place team in the last week of the season.

Even with all that, we did get hosed.

Wait, weren’t you saying we were in before we found out we were out? If you were wrong about that maybe you are wrong about this.

And who is to say we would have replaced Temple with Gonzaga? If we replaced one of the cupcakes we won against with Gonzaga and lost that game would we be in? I would bet not.

At the end of the day Rutgers has to be able to beat teams like Temple and SHU before scheduling even stronger. Heck, let’s try and go 1-1 against that schedule first.

The problem isn’t PLAYING Temple, it’s LOSING to Temple.
Houston lost to Temple at home. They are the #1 seed. It's not Temple, it's the sisters of the poor on the rest of the OOC schedule.

Schedule one pre-season tournament or a game against Gonzaga or the like to replace one of the cupcakes and the schedule will be fine.

You know what you are right. If we were 20-13 we would still have our bid in the hands of others. We had every game this weekend go our way.

more convinced that our play vs Purdue was not even considered. Field set before conference tourneys. Thought that was the case last year but now its confirmation...and psu a 10 further confirmation

guy said RU didnt show they were the same team yet did he watch Michigan and Purdue..nope

Rutgers scheduling strategy is based on winning 18-20 games.Pikiell feels winning 9-11 league games is the base for a successful season. The out of conference strategy was to play as many easy opponents as possible and hope that Rutgers can split the more difficult games. With a mediocre offense there was a very small margin for error.Losing five games at the RAC isn't going to be seen favorabley by the NCAA Committee and neither is losing 6 out of the last 8 games.

So do you all believe me now that the committee has no rubric, no consistent system. They pick who they want and cherry pick the metrics to support it.
thank you

all the circle jerking is hilarious

they do what they want...UNC 3rd team out? what a GD joke.

It is huge and much change. That and the Quad 3 losses did it. Play a holiday neutral court tourney. It matters! We know that now.
Looks like it could be Yale in the NIT
We should just copy seton halls framework for OOC. Or just do something like below. The below is a good way to have a solid out of conference schedule and basically cheat a little as the away games are driving distance so it has a neutral type of atmosphere

SHU
Gavitt
St johns home and home
Temple home and home
Princeton 2 for 1
Rider
Monmouth 2 for 1
FDU
Then one early season tourney

Results in probably 2 less home games a year ooc wise so just raise ticket prices to make up for loss of revenue.

In the above schedule it’s basically just three q4 games. Away games at temple monmouth and princeton would basically be neutral courts.

70 spots based on playing Kansas......LMAO......that means nothing when your in the watered down ACC.

The entire schedule is what you're missing. RU could have played Kansas instead of Temple and would be in the Oklahoma State bucket.

And keep in mind North Carolina and Clemson were 3rd and 4th behind RU, if we are believing the NCAA crooked committee. UNC was ONE slot behind RU.....?? LMAO

Just stop with the schedule nonsense.....if Carolina had showed a pulse vs UVA, they would have leapfrogged 8 teams to the 10 seed line.
