Out of curiosity, how many of you prefer college football over men's basketball?

I know your school is basketball crazy. Just wondering how many of you prefer college football over the round ball.

As far as the Vols go, I've never met or heard anyone say they prefer men's basketball over our football program. We're about as football crazy as you'll find.

Football as much as it pains me.

Love our bball pgm too, obviously.

But a loss like yesterday's hurts as much as an ncaa tourney loss to me.

I prefer college football over college basketball.

I'll also point out that if you ask this on the b-ball board you will get a more realistic poll from UK fans.

Oddly, we have a ton of "football fans first" in our fanbase. We obviously support football exponentially more than any other team in the sec supports basketball.

I love my football and basketball Cats equally and used to be much more of a college basketball fan. I am not a much bigger college football fan. I think some of it has to do with how watered down college basketball has become over the past 15 years or so.

To echo what others are saying, I love UK BB but I love UK FB even more. UK FB is like a crazy relationship with a crazy girlfriend - for some reason I just can't stop my interest and attraction in it in spite of the letdowns, the hurt, etc. that have been inflicted over the years. Sorry to be a melodramatic drama queen, but hopefully you get my drift.

Football fan here. I'd trade UK football success for basketball in a heart beat.

I never even watch college basketball until late February, and even then only occasionally. Way too many games and teams to keep up with, and frankly, it just is not one of my favorite sports. Would much rather watch playoff baseball or major championship golf than college basketball.

I watched a ton of good teams over Thanksgiving. Iowa, Stanford-Notre Dame, The Iron Bowl, Oklahoma v. Ok State, Michigan State, was a great weekend for watching some really fine games.

But . . . I also attended the UK game. Three and a half hours of my life I can never get back.

Well said. I would only add that the crazy girlfriend is also a tweeker.

College football. I can watch sit and watch college football all day no matter the teams or the level. I only watch college basketball when UK is playing.

Used to be more UK football but not anymore. At least basketball has a plan and a goal and seems to get the remote often than not.

Football has no identity and no outlook to get excited about. Love my Cats but I have given up on them being anything more than mediocre.

Football, yesterday for the first time I didn't finish watching a game. When it was still Ky 24-17, I told my wife we were beat and we went out to eat. Came back home and watched the iron bowl. Watching Kentucky football is like coming up on an accident on the highway, you can't help but look and are always disappointed.

UK football over UK basketball. I actually won't start really paying attention to roundball until Louisville game and SEC play starts.

Exactly my thoughts as well. Though I attend every home UK game, sometimes my favorite days are those when the Cats are on the road or on a bye, so I can enjoy CFB from noon to midnight.

There was a day I was like that about CBB as well, but that was quite a while ago. For a team that has a consistent degree of success like UK, the regular season today seems almost meaningless (like an extended spring training) with so much emphasis by fans and media put on March.

Come March I can watch any game in any conference tournament and of course the NCAA tournament and enjoy every bit of it...but its a long 3 months of nothing to get that point.

I guess if I wasn't a UK fan, I would be like the 90% of country and completely ignore the sport until the tournament starts.

For the time being I like UK basketball and Alabama football. This is about the umpteenth time I've given up on UK football. Despite all reason I always come back.

I like both, but my preference is now football. The one and done rule along with the main goal being to see how many players can be drafted in first round of the NBA draft has dampened my enthusiasm for basketball.

I suppose being a UK football fan is a challenge in its self , however I'm excited about the future of UK football and look forward to next years team.

Basketball easily. Far too many times I've been relegated to having to watch a boring as hell football game and most times I just turn on Netflix instead. It's nearly gotten to the point I just let the games play out a little to see if they are going to be worth watching before I even turn one on.

I like football as a sport better but I am glad to have a UK BASKETBALL team that is the gretest of all time. It takes away from the sting of football lil bit.

I was going to say college basketball is unwatchable, but that's not true. there is no college basketball; hasn't been for awhile. there is high school and NBA. the one and done phenom killed college basketball - it's now a hollowed out shell of its former self.

If both teams were playing(FB and BB) and its 2 minutes left, and both were losing by 3, I would watch the football game. Quickly get disappointed when we run it up the middle, quick pass that is dropped, holding call on a 30 yard run, a draw play on 3 and 20 then a QB sack. Then watch the basketball team win.

Football easily, basketball is joke until march, even then it fails to compare to football( NFL playoffs, CFB championship) outside of Kentucky, college basketball is a afterthought, drive twenty min outside the borders of kentucky it is afterthought. Kentucky is actually made fun of in other states because of the basketball school tag.

Football is a no brainer. I only watch two or three games a year in basketball. And if it's not UK, then basketball never sniffs my tv.

I prefer Kentucky basketball to football. This didn't used to be the case, but our football program finally broke me.
Exactly! I can watch college football day and night, not so much basketball. Tubby years broke me on basketball, as I gave up decent seats. I love UK ball, but after that, it gets slim. Too many rules and a lot of calls these refs make have ruined the game

This,
it's easy to be a UK BB fan although college BB is not the same game it once was.
Can't help but to love the underdog UK FB..

IMO we have a large and growing football oriented fan base, but a majority of our fans are still more oriented towards basketball. Since you are on our football board responses to your question are going to be biased.

As a whole I love college football over college basketball. I love watching it all whether it be bama, Ohio state, or Clemson. But I love uk basketball above it all.
