I can’t see any reason he won’t be back.

He just doesn’t have a position in the NBA.

He’s a 6’3” power forward.

There’s no position like that in the league.

I think he’s an undersized SF more than anything. If he ever fixes that hitch or gets around 40% from 3 with his athleticism he could be a 2G.

The hitch is going to prevent him from ever getting serious NBA run along with his poor handle. If he comes back does the staff dare try to fix the hitch? It’s the single biggest thing he needs to fix in order to further a possible NBA career.

Doubt his shot is fixable. He's what, 23 years old? And even if he does fix it, what about his handle? And court vision?

He plays pretty good defense and plays tough so maybe he makes a roster but not sure- all the guys on an NBA roster are good so you better be ready when you try and make a team- way better players have never made an NBA roster- needs to work on his shot

The NBA is all about spacing and shooting. He needs to be able to hit an open jumper 40% of the time or better. But with no college responsibilities he could train full time. But I believe it would be at the g league level. That’s either this year or next.

Hell no that's disrespectful. He is a 2 guard for sure. He isn't that bad at handling the ball it needs to improve but saying he is a power forward is questionable at best. His ball handling is like an average small forward.

What do “tweener” NBA players like Oweh make overseas on the average?
My guess would be the top 10-15 players in the top leagues would make 2 million or more. Which with NIL deals right now money wise seems a return to college without question is most of these guys best moves. Unless the player just does not want to return to college.

OO will be back at UK in a few days. He has always planned on coming back. Nothing wrong with learning about the process. He has already scheduled his classwork for the fall semester.
I think you are correct but he probably did that either way just to have everything ready, no matter his choice.

Oweh stood out last year because the players on that team were all specialists and there was no one else like him. Now we've got several 'dudes' that bring what he does and more. He's not going to be the best player on next year's team, and it won't be that close. I really like Oweh and hope he comes back, but am just calling it like I see it.

Name me someone better? Averaged 16-17 on a sweet 16 team and some are acting like he isn’t great.
I should rephrase. If he improves he has a shot. He’s athletic, and has talent. I’m saying comparing him to the last 2 POY in the SEC in Clayton and Knect he’s a step down right now. Those guys were buckets. Who knows who might blow up. It might be Oweh. Let’s hope.

Oweh will be a better ppayer in 25/26, it won't just be everyone else that improves, OO knows what he has to fix and I believe he will put in the work.
He has good size, physicality and athletesism. If Ziegler can get 1st team all SEC honors and Broome can get SEC POY, then OO can too. Broome has below average athletesism and wasn't a good outside shooter, he was just tough and physical. OO can be good enough to be SEC POY.
I wouldn't bet my house on it, but I also wouldn't doubt him either.

Broome was SEC POY, not Clayton.

The whole league is taking a step back this season, most likely. The SEC is losing two classes worth of Seniors (the regular Seniors and the COVID Seniors), so it’s going to be a little weaker this season.

Oweh, if he returns, will be considered one of the top five returning players in the SEC. Most people will have him as a Preseason First Team All-SEC player and a candidate for SEC POY.

Don’t forget that he was a Second Team All-SEC guy last year and as I said, this league will likely take a step back.

He may not win SEC POY, but he will be a candidate for the award until some others pass him by.

I think he will be our leader and leading scorer this coming season, if he returns. As the top player on one of the top teams, he will likely be considered for SEC POY.

Now winning it, that remains to be seen. There are going to be other great candidates as well, depending on the decisions made by Condon(UF) and Thiero(Ark). Plus Hubbard(MSU) and Mitchell(Mizzou) are back.

There’s no guarantee he will win it, but I think he will be a contender, at least to start the season.

The interesting thing about him is even though he averaged the most ppg and was the most consistent player on last year’s team, he was rarely the first option, with the exception of the Oklahoma games and maybe a couple others when injuries limited us. I would say Robinson and Butler were most often the number one guy when healthy, and sometimes Brea and even Williams took that role. It will be interesting if we come into this season with the notion Oweh is the leader of the team, how he’ll fare as the guy expected to lead the team every night.

Easy equation.

The dream is two fold: make the NBA and become rich doing it.

Only one of those is an option next season. The NBA doesn't want or need him.

He'll be back at Kentucky.

Looking at who is returning, it’s either oweh(please return) or hubbard. I would take Oweh over Hubbard every day of the week

Hamidou Diallo's return was announced right at midnight of deadline day a few years ago. Hopefully OO doesn't put us through that again.
Robinson was the same way last year and when there wasn’t an announcement at exactly 12:01 a.m. , this board had an epic meltdown and many temper tantrums were thrown. He got called all kinds of names and we didn’t want him any way. Next morning, there’s an announcement he’s committed to UK.

I hope not either. Would really make me question his want to be here.

Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with him going pro, but if it's coming down to the wire, that means no team really is wanting him and he's looking to get out at that point. I hate that for both parties if it comes to it.
