Starting it tomorrow. Figured I celebrate tonight by eating a double down from KFC and chasing it with 6 deviled eggs. My chest is already hurting. So, anybody done the program with good results?

I have done it...mostly. I cannot follow the regimen to the letter due to my job schedule precluding working out 3 days a week. I will say that it is brutal. It is aerobically very stressful. I didn't find the lifting routines near as difficult as the more cardio intensive routines (Plyo, cardio, core, kenpo, yoga), but I was used to lifting in an aerobic fashion (limited break between sets). The five aforementioned routines are brutal if you arent used to an intense cardio workout.

It definitely works, its the sticking to the plan that is hard. The time commitment is extensive. Yoga alone is 1.5 hours and may be the hardest workout if you aren't flexible. I still takes me about 2 hours to do the yoga set. The StretchX is amazing. Definitely recommend it as opposed to the day of rest. And I could barely stand up from a seated position for two days after doing AbX the first time.

If you don't have that amount of time, I would recommend Turbulence Training. TT, involves lifting weights and bodyweight exercises and sprints. You need a set of dumbells, bench, and a bar for chin ups. TT only takes around 45 minutes, 3 days per week.

There is no doubt that P90X works, problem is that it is very intense and requires a huge time commitment. I would guess that less than 10% of people that start the program are still doing the program after 1 month.

Just my opinion.

I lost about 25 lbs going through the program. The workouts are listed in the book that comes with the tapes. After you are familar enough with the workouts that you can do them by looking through the book instead of the tapes it will save you a lot of time. Follow the diet if you want the best results. You'll feel alot better after the first month.

I did it last summer since i was not in school and did not want to pay for sanderson. . It really works if you push yourself. Its a work out where you can make it easy or hard just depends on your mind set if you want to push yourself to failure. Most work outs are an hour and then on the days you add the ab work out your spend about an hour and 15. the yoga takes the longest and its 90 minutes. the yoga was the hardest part of me and the ab work out is very tough the first few times. a great work out if your trying to get in shape and and drop body fat. Not the best work out if your trying to put on a lot of muscle mass

Whenever it is delivered, so I'm guessing Friday. I actually bought it this morning and then came on here and saw this thread-only made me more glad I bought it. Some of my friends have done it and gotten in to really good shape and are a good bit bigger after only a couple of months. Others, well, didn't get past the first couple of weeks.

Its a grind, no doubt. If you have time and can stick with it, I would imagine the results would be great. I started it back in January, and completed 38 days and was loving it. Between a death in the family, then selling my house, then my wife having our first kid (all in about 30 days) I have pretty much let myself go since the 38 days. I can't wait to jump back into it. I didn't lose any weight, but I went down 2 belt loops and felt great. Your flexibility will improve the most.

The toughest part is the time commitment. Most workouts are 50-60 minutes. Then every other day you add the ab ripper, which is another 16 minutes. Then the yoga program is 1:45, if i recall.

Drink your protein shakes.

That I found this way. I did P90X for a little over a month and the timecommitmentbegan to be too much. It will literally kick your *** though. Insanity is supposed to be just as good, but I have yet to try it.

If you can't control your calorie intake you are doomed to fail in any fitness endeavor. You can't exercise your way out of a ****** diet.

It is on just about any torrent site you can think of. I am not going to link it here but just do a search for it and you should not have much trouble finding it. Downloading may take a long time and you never know for sure what you are getting from these sites but that is up to you.

If you are over 40, I can not tell you how many people have gone to their physician for tendonitis in their elbow from doing P90X. I think it's an awesome workout, but everyone I know that has done it has ended up seeing their physician to get steroid injections. Good luck.

FYI - if you can't (or don't want to) download via a torrent site, Ebay sells the DVD's at steep discounts pretty often.

In roughly 6 months or so I went from 205 to 170-175 (depending on the day). I'm only 6' to 6'1" and my wife says I'm too skinny now (may be, but I feel so much better).

I have a fairly physical job and I am pretty active outside of work, but no real "exercise" program. I cut out junk, NEVER drink cokes (really not many since 9th grade-I'm 37 now) and almost never eat after 7 pm. I still eat pretty much whatever I want, just less, and eat a good snack at 10 and 3ish every day.

I'm telling you, the weight POURED off of me. I'll admit I've never been fat, so to be fair, I had a good starting point, but 35 pounds is 35 pounds. One of my colleagues and her husband did the whole program and they've done great (both in early 30's) but I have too many kids and not enough time for a full time workout, so I stole the diet from her. After a couple of months I altered it a bit to include most of my favorite foods and I couldn't be happier.

All I have heard is dumbells and a pull up bar for P90X. What about Insanity?

yeah all you need is a pull up bar, and proably a chair if your not good with pullups. You need dumbells. I bought the bowflex adjustbable ones from 2 pounds to 55 which were a big help but they are very proud of them so there very high think i paid about 400. I had a few buddies who had the dumbells you change the plate and screw a bolt on at the end but it seemed that took a lot of time and had to pause the video but you can get at any sporting good store for a lot less. id say the average guy will need weights from maybe 10 pounds on some of the shoulder stuff to up to 40 on the back rows. weights are prettty expenisve since most dumbells are a little less then a dollar per pound so it can get very pricey if you want to buy severval dumbells. you can use bands but i have never been a big fan of them. but they woudl proably be the cheapest way to go.

I lost about 15 pounds last summer doing it. its a great work out for somebody wanting to start back or somebody wanting a change up from the gym. i have worked out pretty routinely for about 5 years and i enjoyed the switch. if you lift weights regularly you will find out that some of the videos are good and some are not as difficult.

I have done both, P90X 2 complete times and Insanity once about to start round 2. P90X is Insanity's *****. You will burn anywhere between 700 - 1000 calories per workout and they are much shorter than P90X.

Call all the Sports stores and find used ones.. the paint might be chipping or falling off so they arent always pretty but they will work you just as hard.
I saw some whole sets years ago and wish I had picked up more than the ones I did (set of 25 and 45's)
