I want to see him back playing again soon but ive always said and thought an EXTENDED break to heal his body and mind would be good for Tiger. Hopefully, we will see him when the season starts in the fall at a lesser event.
I've played in hundreds of scrambles over the last 20+ years in western Kentucky. And I've seen almost no cheating. Most of the time the only thing I hear is bellyaching from bad teams that don't think there is anyway another team could shoot -18. They can't fathom it because they can't get close to it so they say they cheated.
Now, I'm sure cheating exists, but I don't think it is near as rampant as some seem to think. And I'm almost certain the cheating very very rarely comes from teams that are good enough to win on their own.
I've never played on a team that cheated, and I've never played with any guys that wanted our team to cheat. It's just hard for me to believe it happens near as much as some think.
Even for those that are loaded or play their *** off, why have people scoff and say "they cheated"? Just put two teams together and it stops all of it.
The fact that you shot -8 and thought you had a chance tells me all I need to know. You think people cheat so often because you aren't very good. You just refuse to believe a team is that much better than yours.
The wind could blow 50 mph, rain sideways, and hail, and -8 wouldn't win **** if there was even a decent team in a scramble.

Anybody see Steve Wheatcroft bunker shot on 18 in the Canadian Open today. Hit it close for birdie and go to play off, hit it on and 2 putt and get 2nd. Instead he hits it across green and into the water.
Guy is a true journeyman trying to keep his card. Could see the heartbreak on his face while DJ played his shot.
Finish 2nd and he moves to 109, finished T5 and now at 134 and wouldn't keep his card.
Felt bad for him.
-8 won 1st place 1 flight last year for us and $300. Championship winner was - 14.The fact that you shot -8 and thought you had a chance tells me all I need to know. You think people cheat so often because you aren't very good. You just refuse to believe a team is that much better than yours.

Can't recall ever seeing a guy almost cry on the course over a shot. Just awful. Guy was so rattled and emotional after the shot I legitimately don't think he knew what to do/where to drop/etc. DJ was helping him and even physically moved his driver for his drop so he wouldn't drop closer to the hole.
I saw it, I honestly thought he was going to cry. Looks like he was trying to blame it on lack of sand in the bunker, but I don't know, seemed like everyone else hit decent shots. I did feel terrible for the guy though. Once he dropped, I would have bet my car he would miss the putt, he was just so rattled.
Also, I realized that I didn't receive an adjuster "tool' with my purchase -- was that a mistake? Surely to God they include one with a $500 driver, right?
82,81 in the Lexington City for me. Started both fronts with solid 43'sObviously not what i wanted but was relatively pleased that i was able to put the bad 9's aside and play well on the back both days.
No, i was in the shade a lot.Did you melt? I played Saturday afternoon and honestly got dizzy when I bent over to putt on 16th hole, was just a sauna bath all weekend.
Played in an 8some yesterday. Other team didn't have a ball in play on a par 5. We saw the ball that was eventually "found" headed out of bounds with a purpose. The four of them looked for it quite a bit but the ball wasn't found until two guys off my team found it for them. Laying right next to the cart path where you could see it from 20 yards away easy. I told the guy on the cart with me that it was the MO of one of the guys on that team. He drops balls and lets the other guy find it for him. He thinks that makes it more legit.I prefer playing in 8 somes really. I think it's more fun. One time played in 12 somes. It was fun as hell, but took damn near all day.
Tool is definitely includedFinally took the M1 out for the first time -- TM is definitely a way different feel than I'm used to, and I struggled with it early. Hit a few on the screws that were legit 15-20 yards further than my normal, was in a few spots that I've never been on a few holes that I've played 100s of times -- even some of my misses were out past my usual once I started hitting it. Thing is definitely "hot", but the feel is going to take some time.

Congratulations. They're awfully fun to get. I have 3 myself and was painfully close to another about 5 rounds ago. Never in my life did I think I would be disappointed with a birdie but I was when I missed about a 10 footer for eagle. I don't make a ton of 10 footers, but I barely missed that one.Got my 3rd career eagle last Thursday.
How long until a 5 hour round is considered "acceptable pace of play"? Growing the game is making for miserable rounds at almost any course you go to anymore. Seems like about 40% of the golfers at 18 hole facilities belong at meadowbrook or man o war rather than the real course. I remember my dad not even letting me play a real course until I was maybe 12 and could hit the ball pretty consistently. Learn golf course etiquette hacks!
Being a hack doesn't necessarily lead to slow play, and vice versa. The problem is that most of those guys have zero clue how to play ready golf. How many times have you seen this scenario play out?
Two idiots are cart partners. Idiot #1 is in the right rough 150 yards out, Idiot #2 is in the left rough the same distance. Instead of one guy grabbing a club or two and heading to his ball while the other takes the cart, both of them sit in the cart while one plays, then both hop back in and take the cart over to the other ball while the other plays. Rinse, repeat down the entire fairway.
Same thing on the green, each guy has to wait into the other guy is completely finished before reading his putt - apparently it's too much to ask to read your putt while the other guy is putting.
I've played with speedy 20s and glacial 5s. It just a matter of knowing how to be ready when it's your turn, however many turns that may be.
