Page travels over to Jamieson stadium to face a familiar foe in arch rival Grimsley. Big-time game as Page tries to keep the conference standings interesting. Most will say Page has no shot. Especially with the news posted everywhere about Grimsley standout UNC commit Travis Shaw coming back from injury just to play against Page. We have seen crazy things in this massive rivalry and I have a feeling we will see some crazy plays on Friday night.

41-27 Whirlies. They aren’t quite as good as last year but still the top dog until taken down. Page is really building something special and it’s nice to see them winning games again. Shaw will really help the Grimsley defense be able to fly around again. I’m from Greensboro but live in Raleigh now, might have to make the trip down 40 for this one

The bulk of Grimsley's touchdowns have come from their QB and RB, Barnett and Melton. Both players transferred from Page. We have a running joke in our 50 yard line club which we currently call Grimsley, "Pagesley" It will be very interesting to see what happens next year and the year after when they have to play with their own players on offense.....

I'm close to calling a upset. I see a 7 point game, page can't get down again like Northern.

How many new guys did they get? Do they have open enrollment?

He's only coming back to play against Page? That's odd.

Let’s be fair how many players have Page gotten from Grimsley and other schools through the years? And I’m pulled for Page personally this go around. Seems like Grimsley was on the short end of that stick for decades losing kids to other schools.

I cant remember Page ever getting a transfer in from Grimsley.... transferring to the arch rival in this case is the ultimate sign of betrayal.

that being said, its very weird to see both backfield starters on your best team in, what? 60 years... (probably in school history, actually) come from your arch rival.
Ah you are young then. Knew the QB was from Page, not the RB. Certainly Page would be favored if they were still Pirates. Happens everywhere though, you win, kids want to ply there. The way Page is going doubt there’s going to be many leaving any time soon.

QB was originally slated to attend Grimsley with the Spanish Immersion program, but somehow ended up at Page. Embrace Coach Robertson and the future, not the bitter pill of your recent failures.

Key for tonight is how PHS’s run game fares early against the Whirlies.

I'm sure you could ask his parents about that? Page was putting kids into high D1 schools left and right for many years just a few years ago... I guess they saw Page as an avenue to play football at the next level. Maybe they saw that the previous coach was running things into the ground, so they took a short drive down Cornwallis, I honestly don't blame him, Rolfes really jacked things up.. but I don't think transferring changes anything for a kid in the short term in regards to recruiting though.. I will say it is a bit off to see multiple kids leave a program at the same time and end up at the same school. Anyways, its just a lighthearted joke that we have as fans (afterall this is a rivalry). Nothing too serious. Trust me, we are for sure embracing Robertson.

melton fumbled on the 3 yard line and page ends up punting from the end zone. whirlies score 3 plays later, 17-7
