I've been to many many homecomings and Panic (not at the disco) is playing October 9th and 10 in Bham? What would you do? I think I might miss my first homecoming since I was 8.

Panic plays 273 times a year.

This is a no brainer.

Maybe Friday and drive back to the game on Saturday. That way I get the best of both worlds. You gonna grace us with your presence that weekend peaches?

Panic in a landslide.

Coach33, I will bring a bongo drum and play on it for 1 hour in the Junction if you want a Panic concert.

a collective set of music fans than I have at a Panic concert. I enjoy the music but the 2 times I have been to one of their concerts, a majority of their fans bring nothing to society.

well fair enough but Panic does not and every time they come around something gets in the way. Just wondering if anybody else that doesn't go to home games had the same idea I did.

... and I have no desire to ever see them again.

In your case, I would suggest waiting until they play in New Orleans on Halloween weekend. I'm pretty sure that's the weekend of the Kentucky game, which is in Lexington this year.

we missed SBW for WP in Orange Beach.....& would do it again.......& we will be in B'ham for the WP show........there will be plenty more homecomings. Word is that the whole show w/ the Allman Brothers will be a collective jam w/ neither of the groups ever really leaving the stage.

when I was in school.

They still played Chilly Water, Space Wrangler, and such back then (since it was probably the only album they had out) if that tells you how long ago that was. There weren't that many people there, because they were only marginally popular. My girlfriend bummed cigarettes from the guitar player all night, since we could talk to them casually in between songs from the front of the stage.

after that they kind of lost me. I went to the "show" when they came to state and hated it. I wanted to hear them play the songs from the CDs and they did, but each song lasted 20 damn minutes and would switch to a different song and then switch back to the original song. I understand they are considered a "Jam" band and I guess I am not much on Jam Bands. I am fine with it when the Allman Brothers do the same thing but I found myself begging for WSP to just finish playing a song. That and the crowd that followed them to Starkville were the absolute bottom of the barrel of society. To each his own, oh and my buddy swears that WSP stand for Weirdo Shitheads on Pot.

100 percent agree. They freakin JAM. Never had a bad time at any show. Somebody actually emailed me the mp3's (entire set) of panic in the Amphitheater in 99'. If you want it let me know.

They actually only play about 50-60 shows per year now, with this year not being that many. with that said i will be in Birmingham that weekend. I dont get to see them that much anymore, but when they are close I try and go. This is close enough, and when you throw the ABB in with them I am all for it

Them...and Dave Matthews.

How the hell did it become cool to be fans of those bands I have no idea.

I just didn't like the WSP concert. I have seen DMB 4 times and while they are a Jam band, it is not the same thing as a WSP concert. With WSP I felt like my ears were going to start bleeding if they didn't stop playing the same damn song after ten minutes. I really enjoyed the DMB concerts. Have a blast in Bham, I will be cheering on the Dawgs.

Two nights at the Forecastle festival. More specifically, the two nights I won't be there.

Still one of the best concerts I have ever seen, I can't think of the name of the place but it was in downtown Jackson probably around 1993-1994.

I skipped SBW for OB. I leave in the morning going to Louisville for Forecastle, and am catching a plane to Denver next week for Mile High.. Take it from me, don't go to Birmingham.. Go to any show on the fall tour. Hell, Ill see you in Austin for Halloween. But do NOT go to Birmingham.. PM if you want details.. That or google "Operation Dont Panic" by the Birmingham City Police
