How involved were you in your kid's registration, etc.? When I think about how that’s changed over the generations it’s kind of incredible. My FIL hitchhiked to State carrying his bag. I loaded up my truck and moved myself in, handled all my registration, housing applications, etc. I moved myself kids in but had nothing to do with their registration, housing applications, etc. I did help them understand and apply for financial aid. I know parents today who are a mess doing literally everything for the kid, and texting them incessantly because they noticed they were somewhere they shouldn’t be or not somewhere they should be because they track them by the minute on Life360…”don’t you have algebra right now?”
ETA: this is not a judgement on how it should/shouldn't be. I find it interesting how much it has changed and I'm thankful i was not inclined to worry myself to death about what mine were doing in college. I knew I had already sunk any chance of a low risk experience via my DNA...
