Burned every bridge and scorched several interstates when he left for Mich... He gets exactly what he deserves....
He gets exactly what he deserves? Really, you obviously know the Rich that I do.
When Rich learned (not from me) that my wife was terminally ill with cancer he made it a point to call her during his radio show and chat with her for 15 minutes about what it meant to be a WVU fan.
Rich made my Mona Lisa, as I called her because it was a play on her birth name of Monia Elizabeth, feel special. And he made her children and grandchildren agog that a nationally famous coach would be caring and considerate enough to put her, not him, in the spotlight.
After my wife passed away, Rich mailed me a note on WVU letterhead with his photo on it, to console me about my loss.
That made Rich a lot better person that many on here claim at a time when I needed it.
My family album, titled "My Mona Lisa," has photos of my wife as a child, during our courtship, during our 48-year marriage, our 3 children and 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
And a treasured page, a with scanned copy of Rich's caring and consoling letter to me, right next to a photo of my wife's double grave with "WV" under her name and my name.
Nobody is all bad no matter what those without personal contact with them think. I prefer to see the silver lining in Rich and how he made my Mona Lisa special.
Rich's winning percentage just makes the cake richer.
That's the off-field man that I remember from first-hand experience . . . twice!
