And spare me, Hart this, or SMU money that, because we are talking about UK, and UK shouldn’t be losing ANY player to the assistant coach who just left, or a semi-religious school in Texas!

Our coach is a Mormon. Our BB program at least is likely much more religious than anything at SMU.

He will be eligible. Bediako gave up his college eligibility, Pate never went to college.

It’s apparent that for the third year the roster will have 12 guys who are of similar skill level that they all need playing time. During the season the top guys ( with flaws) will emerge as worthy of the most minutes, but those guys won’t be elite enough to win anything. But they will have done good games sprinkled in.

How can you not knock him? When he constantly gives more ammo to do so.

He's not giving you ammo other than you create ammo over everything he says or does. This was not a good year and he did not do a good job as coaching, but some of y'all are so obsessed with him it's tragic. You also want an instant fix and that's not gonna happen either it seldom does.

I just don’t know how I feel about Pate. I’ve watched some video of Pate, but I’m just not convinced yet that there won’t be a number of better options in the Portal, especially at 2G. Maybe that’s just him being such and an unknown compared probably to Portal guys.

I need some of you basketball fanatics who have watched a good bit of video (or maybe even streamed live games) – and I’m guessing we’ve likely got a few on here – to tell me your opinion on Pate and whether you’d like to see UK get him even if it means missing out on a good Portal option.

Bad take imo at this point. Let's see what Pope can do before we write off the entire roster.
If he does what you suggest he's a gone gopher after next year. sounds like that's your hope.
