Heart Breaker yesterday, but at least it gives us optimism that we can hang in with some of the big boys. At 2-3, we will need to win 4 more games to gain bowl eligibility, tough yes, but possible, why not? Looking at the schedule ahead these 4 games I think we have a shot:
1) Indiana- 0-2 in conference, awful loss to PSU, banged up QB and RB, if they are out for next game (big IF), we will certainly have a great shot on the road.
2) Nebraska- 0-2 in conference, 2-4 overall, lost a few heart breakers but certainly seem like a game RU could pull off with the right energy and execution as they did verse MSU.
3) Army- 1-5, were just drubbed badly by Duke, yes these military schools are always pesky with their unique offense but we have come through time and time again them and Navy the past several years.
4) Maryland- Give them credit for hanging tight with OSU til the 3rd quarter, but with Edsall now oficially gone and a few games they completely sleep walked through, dont see why we cant take care of them to end the year.
LONG SHOT:
1) Michigan- Its on the road, they are looking red hot this year minus the Utah loss who could end up in the playoff. I want to see how they play MSU next week, but my opinion on them is rising by the week.
2) Wisconsin- On the road for us, yes they barely squeaked by Nebraska but these guys are legit, and narrowly lost to a very solid Iowa team and gave Alabama some problems in the opener, still an RU team on the road hasn't shown us enough for me to think they stand any chance at Camp Randall.
3)OSU- After playing MSU so tight, and seeing Indiana hang with them, at least they are looking less than Godly compared to the rest of CFB, would need EVERYTHING to go right at home, but I imagine HPS is gonna be rocking in 2 weeks, especially if we can beat Indiana next week on the road.
Overall 6-6 is going to take a lot of work but we've gotta stay optimistic, Caroo is back, the defensive play calling was stellar for much of the game, especially against the run, I like our chances of at least making things interesting going forward....
