USM averaged 434 YPG this year with a freshman QB in the first year of a new offense. Now you go ahead and tell me that they are in CUSA so it doesn't count. But they had he athletes to make the spread work against the teams they played. And if Patterson goes there the offense will be even better.

and if you did why the hell werent they on the field this season?

maybe patterson wants to go to an offense that doesn't need him to be mr all america his first year and wants to go somewhere that has a PROVEN QB not some HS kid coming in that is going to get his lumps from the SEC...or maybe he doesn't want to go to a program who's been god awful for the better part of 2 decades

MSU will not get every single badass that comes along, no one will for that matter unless your USC or FL
you already have an impressive class considering your record this year and the hire of the new coach, let mullen get in and impliment his system win a few games and worry about next years badass's and you wont even remember bitching about patterson

if mullen is to have success next year he will have to mold his offense to your players, b/c as i see it you DONT have the correct personel to run the true spread, and russell is no Tebow...atleast not yet

Goodluck in 09, except in the egg bowl i'd personally like to see us beat your brains in again and again and again...45-0!

4) He could be playing games with everybody.

There is a month to go before signing on the loi, so it's too early to make any determination about where this guy is going to go. He got a lot of attention from the media recently, he is playing it for what its worth.

In spite of early signs he was a lock for OM, it just isn't so anymore. Saban was in Macon this week, who knows, maybe he ends up with him.

..............and some people are acting like he's going to make or break whichever program he chooses and whichever one he turns down. If it wasn't obvious days, and maybe weeks ago, that he doesn't want to go to MSU, then there's no hope for some people. He's made it pretty clear he's not going to MSU in about as many ways as Tyler Russell made it clear that MSU was going to be his destination. Let it go.</p>

When Patterson says MSU does not have the talent to run the spread, based off your offensive performance this year, I can see how he came to this perception. If your were an Army all American HS WR, what would you look for in the college your are going to attend?
1. Does the school have a QB that can get the ball to me?
2. How did the offense perform last year?
3.What talent I will have around me to help us be successful?

All of the top recruits think they can come in and play immediately, no matter which school they are looking at. A lot of the top players are looking to make a Julio Jones type of impact, so they are be nature a little Cocky!
Mullen will need time to show HS athletes that MSU is running a offense that they want to play in, and that there is enough talent around them, that they can be successful. Give Mullen a couple of years, and if he is successful, he will have players calling him to visit MSU.
Since OM Cotton Bowl victory, we are seeing some of this now. Marlon Brown, a 5 star WR out of Memphis, is taking a visit to OM now. We may not get him, but he saw our success on TV and is now giving us a look.
Mullen is a good hire, but will need time to show what he can do.

Do you have the WRs to match the production of McCluster, Wallace, and Hodge? If so, who are they? (honest, because I don't know)

Do you have a QB the calibur of Snead? If so, who is he? (honest, because I don't know)

Do you have a DT the calibur of Peria Jerry? If so, who is he? (honest, because I don't know)

Do you have OL with the upside of Mike Oher and John Jerry? If so, who are they? (because I don't know)
