Ncaa would have come down hard on Pearl. Way to much baggage to coach at a top school in the Ncaa, Has had way to many chances to straighten out his lying and now he is toast. To bad, good coach but when you cheat and lie it has a lasting affect.

one thing that was starting to show on the court, was Pearl's willingness to abandon the system that brought him so much success in order to recruit the blue chippers that other schools were getting. He felt that if he was going to be a consistent top 15 program, he needed to go after the same players the other 14 were going after.

Pearl built his reputation on creating scoring opportunities by pressuring full court. But you aren't going to get that with the Scottie Hopson's.

They say they like the full-court game, but what they really mean is they like to finish fast breaks. Only problem is, they aren't willing to do what is necessary on the defensive end to create those fast break opportunities.

Hopson jumps the perimiter pass as well or better than Frazier or the Delks used to. His defense leads to fast breaks more than anyone else on that team. Now I am sure that it would be difficult in getting him to commit to playing 40 minutes of full court press defense. But that isn't the only type of defense that leads to fast break opportunities.

huge loss for UT. He increased their attendance by 8,000 fans per game to make them a top 5 attendance wise school. He had them dancing 6 straight years with 3 sweet 16's. UT basketball carried the football team the last 3-4 years. Now that is gone. Tobias Harris, Scotty Hopson and Cameron Tatum will not return and UT basketball will be very bad.

Hopson has drawn the ire of UT fans now for a couple of years because hehas no interest in playing hard on the defensiveend.

Not surprisingly, he went from Lottery Pick tolucky to make a roster in 3 short years. In other words, the college game exposed his glaring weaknesses.

in the group I worked with at the time... and then the next day, my boss was laid off (deservedly so - he was atrocious).

I wonder if Mike Hamilton is going to bed thinking the same thing is about to happen to him?

I always got the vibe that Pat couldn't wait to get the hell away from that moron. I think she knew he was sleazey and the success he brought the program didn't do anything to sway her opinion. I can't wait to watch UT sink back into the abyss of irrelevancy.
