Wouldn’t have hurt my feelings if we got him instead.
Has had success wherever he’s been.

Love a coach that fights for his team, but Mitch doesn’t have the balls to there.

More than likely he would have brought some of those guys with him.

I’m not disappointed with Pope, but I would rather have more of a sure thing than a guy that’s never won a NCAA tournament game.

Pearl was hit with a three year show cause penalty, he was never going to coach here. He may be a good coach and motivator but he’s not exactly a guy with good character to represent this program with all of his cheating and ratting players out.

All he meant was they should win because they have a much better record.

No need to get offended by that.
It's a dumbass speech, hype your guys up sure but a coach should never minimize a team so their team doesn't get complacent. That statement is basically saying we're better we should win, when a decent coach would be talking about how if we aren't our best this team could best us.

This is literraly the 5th thread pining for a piece of trash that was blackballed by all non-desperate programs over 2 decades ago for being a lowlife snitch that tried to ruin a kid's career. Not only will he never coach here, he'll NEVER be considered. Did you hear a single sniff of his name when we were thinking about who to hire? Not even a sniff.

But, from what I saw, he did get them ready to play. They were so jacked up they were banking in three pointers early in the game. We could have hung in that game if we could have taken care of the ball. Many of our turnovers were self-created.

This will be the best team Pearl ever has had

Except 19 FF, Pearl performed like garbage in his time at Auburn in tournament...

Do not think he will still have this level of team next season
No he won’t. This is Pearl’s last chance to at least make a final four. He’s 65 years old next month and has always been a slimeball.

Exactly, coaches have there own way of motivating, and it obviously worked today.

I’m happy with pope. But Pearl was my guy. He was my guy when we hired Clyde. Everyone wants to cry about him being a dbag but you will not find a coach more complimentary of Kentuckys program and fans than Pearl. He gets it. He would have crawled through glass to coach here

You can go root for pearl and auburn. If pearl did come and started with zero roster at the same point you ACTUALLY think we'd be in their position? More likely, you'd be complaining about how pearl isn't tough and xyz coach would have been much better for us.

What’s the point of doing this? Pope is the coach, not Pearl…..so support your coach.

LOL, lies and cheats and keeps on doing it. I'm sure some of the reckless people that want him were also pining for Bobby Petrino, lmao.

"Is an assistant at Iowa around ~1990. Accuse Illinois of paying player. Get Illinois in trouble, but not for what he accused them for. Illinois fans hate Pearl. Coaches at Milwaukee for a while. Goes to Tennessee. Gets caught having barbecue for recruit Aaron Craft. Knowingly lies about it which is what really got him in trouble. Gets Tennessee in trouble. Takes 3 season coaching break. Goes to Auburn. Now at auburn assistant coach Chuck Person got the program in hot water, he’s in jail now. Auburn takes 1 year postseason ban to avoid further punishment. We are now here. Basically, he gets in trouble with NCAA infractions quite a bit. Lies, cheats etc quite a bit."

but now it's legal so he benefits for already knowing the game
