When I was young a kid I knew moved to Indiana, when he returned he pronounced it pee can pie. It is puh kaan or puh con in central ky.
When I was a youngsta my friend moved 2 the hoosier state

My favorite, but not a fan of it doctored up with either bourbon, chocolate or even warmed up, chilled / room temp for this fella.
If you pronounce the end of it as "can" instead of, well . . . "kahn" . . . 100% bon afide Yankee, and that's just straight-up.
That’s how I pronounced until five years ago when I moved from Lexington to South Georgia. Now I have 15 Pecan trees on my property, which produce 30-40 pounds of pecans each, per year, and I now pronounce it Pee-can. It’s all about location, location, location.
