When I was young a kid I knew moved to Indiana, when he returned he pronounced it pee can pie. It is puh kaan or puh con in central ky.

When I was a youngsta my friend moved 2 the hoosier state
There he went came huffing right back & said

That’s how I pronounced until five years ago when I moved from Lexington to South Georgia. Now I have 15 Pecan trees on my property, which produce 30-40 pounds of pecans each, per year, and I now pronounce it Pee-can. It’s all about location, location, location.

home made or cracker barrel Pecan Pie... make sure the pie is warm enough to make a proper ala mode with some french vanilla ice cream and I'll accept your gratitude later.
