GDit. 24-10 Rutgers beat us in escapes. How the heck does that happen every single match. Gotta win the escape battle if you're gonna win a title!!!!

Just watched the match again. You get some nice commentary during the broadcast you obviously dont get in person. Nice to hear Jordan Conaway get some well deserved recognition.
Maybe someone can clarify the records shown for wrestlers on Big 10 network. LL's record was 8-1 and they actually mentioned that his only loss was to a teammate and didnt count so why is it being shown if it doesn't count. Is LL 9-1 or 9-0.
…and got the win after contending with multiple fists to their backs.
Also interesting that Josh Barr and his Rutgers opponent Remy Cotton both attended Davison HS in Michigan. Based on their ages they were likely on the same team training together at least one year (2021-22?).
Josh on an interview said they were good friends and Cotton was his main training partner in HS
I thought both Davies and Messenbrink gave up takedowns.
Was a little surprised there wasn’t a bit more interaction when they shook hands after the match. Was your basic quick shake with barely a look.
Man…we are screwed if they implement Iowa’s rules change request of awarding 2 points for takedowns and 3 for escapes.
I think it still would be a blow out. PSU guys would have 5+ mins of riding time and their own escape.

I’m pretty sure they graduated the same year. Cotton transferred to Davison for just his senior year I believe. Had wrestled for Traverse City before where he was a state runner-up. Won a state title his senior year for Davison. Went to Michigan State for 2 years and just transferred to Rutgers this season.
Being there, I noticed that they hugged after the match, so I figured they were close friends.
Luke lost to teammate Desmond. It does not count as an official loss (or win) when you wrestle a teammate. Some sites still list it as a loss despite the rule.
At the 2:20 mark of the post match interview the reporter asks about Cotton and you can hear Josh’s answer
