So before the dual started, I mentioned that my brain was fried from reffing all day, and I was out for PBP. Talk about knowing your body ... I was good for the first 3 matches. I missed a a few things in the SVN match, and by the Duke match, I was having trouble focusing on the action. And I fell asleep during the Barr match (I don't think I've fallen asleep during a PSU dual in over a decade). :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I took a sauna just before the match and was dozing off myself. I think that’s why I thought sparks called them the scarlet mice.

I view dreaming in comedy as an evolutionary advantage.

If you are a catholic, that's reason for excommunication; if amish you'll be shunned!!

On a more serious note, a fascinating paradox…

on the one hand, as Americans, we tend to love a good underdog story.

yet the reality is, at least as to sports, we are almost compelled to tune in to see Goliath kick the **** out of David. I suppose true excellence just never gets boring to watch.

LOL. Since it's illegal in high school (and middle school and youth), I certainly can't call it my favorite move. It's something that refs are always on the lookout for. You can stop it for PD if you catch it before the offensive wrestler steps over over, but once things get to that point it's a point to the defensive wrestler (as well as being dangerous).

Like the bow-and-arrow, it's a different world in college wrestling for the assassin.
The assassin is legal. Which part of the sequence are you calling PD or giving points?

Just got home from the meet. A few observations:

  • with a couple exceptions, Rutgers didn’t look like they wanted to compete
  • I was wondering whether Scooter would physically look like a 141 lber and he did
  • Might have been the best I’ve seen Rocco (small sample size, but still)
  • SVN looks like a true freshman on bottom, not even trying to get hand control. It’s at least a little concerning.
  • Loved the falls

Noticed that Too. SVN Better Work on Hand Control off the Bottom or he will not beat anyone really good on Top ! Good observation

I could be wrong but it looked like Van Ness was trying to land a big move from bottom instead of just getting out and he ended up getting it.

That being said, I agree he should stop going for flash and work on just getting the escape.

It could end up being a major issue against Jaxon Joy if he doesn't go with fundamentals on bottom.

Or maybe he chooses feet against Joy. (Or Joy loses earlier and they don't meet.)

Very tough break once again for Aaron. You have to feel for him. The depth on this team is a blessing. On balance, just hearing that Davis wasn't training to compete this year, and may have been 160 lbs no too long ago, he certainly passes the eye test. He will only get better as he is tested this month, but on balance I think the team is slightly stronger now. Not many teams can lose an AA caliber starter and not miss a beat, not to mention improve. Crazy.
