Do you know if they still have the rule in place, if you attended a CMS school your Junior Year. You can attend that same school, if you move out the district?
Think that rule is still in place. School attended previous year, or home school so they should be able to stay even if they move out of the residency boundary if that school was their sports school, but dont hold me to it.

I have no idea what it is now.

If he was living with his father then the father had guardianship. I guess that is the proper term. IF he moves back in with his mother they transfer that back to her. At that point it becomes a bona fide move of primary residence. If CMS tried to stop that I would expect the family would have no problem getting an injunction and eventually winning in civil court. Best to not talk about your reasons for moving in public. Just do it and let them speculate.

Regarding schools, if you remember the whole 2007 investigation started over a Providence HS senior that had moved to Union County after his junior year. It did not start at WC, Indy, South Meck, or East Meck. He continued to attend Providence and the ruling was that he could only attend if the school had seats which it did not. That was due to the student moving out of the county. A few years before they had allowed a student to remain at the school he started day one freshman year at even if they moved out into another school district. That was all about allowing a student to have continuity in education even if his family was moving residences.
