Says everything about a huge disconnect between players and staff when stuff like that gets to the public . It's like he's blaming the coaches , what's next coaches calling out players for not tackling .

The point that will be lost on many is this is a dumpster fire any way you look at it! It doesnt matter whos wrong or right. We're witnessing a team that does not respect its coaches...big fn red flags....but well keep him around anyway...i mean, winning isnt everything!

Absolutely pathetic and unacceptable if true. I'll never say someone needs fired but we've got serious problems with this staff's basic coaching ability.

Just too green and not enough experience between the three of them and they need to fix it now or I'm not sure they need to be here.

How could you not prepare for Jackson? He has played more snaps at QB season that any QB at UL and in last weeks game with Pitt Jackson played more than half the game. Many UL fans thought Jackson would even start the game. ON top of that

If true, Elliot needs to be fired. Honestly, he probably needs to be fired anyway. He actually coaches well against traditional offense. But ive never seen a more disorganized, undisciplined team when trying to defend an option. And we have 4 or so teams every year who run it.

We KNEW Jackson wanted to keep every time. Yet everytime the contain dove down to tackle the RB and everytime Jackson kept for about 20 yards. It wasnt even hard for them.

Stoops said afterward the QB change caught them off balance? How can you not foresee Jackson may get at least some snaps? Its laughable.

Where is the link or interview that he,said they didn't prepare or is this thread total BS? Stamps said they prepared on post game interview so either you are lying or he is.

Maybe Forrest didn't prepare. He played with his head up his wazoo anyway and making the idiotic penality after his INT was ridiculous, the stuff of losers.

Poor Denzel Ware will see Jackson in his nightmares, made a fool out of him.

If Ware had stayed home a bit more the game may have been different.

True, but as others have said, was he simply doing what he was instructed to do, or was he free-lancing out there? It looks really bad on both coach and player either way.

Here I found a picture of Stoops on the sideline after Jackson trotted out for the first time, and for most of the season now that I think about it.

Absolutely agree and in the end the coaches are responsible for teaching and instilling discipline.

100% agree. This isn't the first time the players have spoke out on some type of controversy or game planning. It shows Stoops has lost this team and I'm not sure he can get it back. AD needs to meet with players, then make a decision

Ware crashed to the RB every friggin' time, lost containment and left nobody on the outside. Probably should've been a CB or S there too but once Ware crashed to the RB Jackson had green. Very poorly played and done time and time again. Like taking candy from a baby.

Ware was like a lot of the young D guys, started the season strong then crashed down the stretch.

Forrest says we didn't prepare and Stamps says we did. Reminds me of the week of the MSU game. Dawson says he's gonna be sick of hearing cowbells by the end of the week as they had been piping them in to help the team get ready. Next day Stoops says they aren't piping in cowbells.

As for stopping a running, read/option QB. Doesn't matter who the coaches or players are we haven't stopped one in ages.

To be honest...Ware was awful the entire game and never once took the QB on read option. Then comes in Miggins to other side and same damn thing. So whatever you want to say, UK played with no discipline on Lamar Jackson. Which is why I'm not about to listen to talent argument...this team fails on assignment football a ton out there.

Those 2 guys are first year players who are making rookie mistakes. I think that it's more about inexperience and reverting back to bad habits than anything else. You can lead a horse to water, but a horse won't always drink & that applies to football coaching as well.

IMHO, Ware does have SEC talent, but he is only a RS FR who needs to get serious in the film room & then apply it to the field. I think that he will do just that.

If this is even remotely true then I don't know what bigger statement could be made about how inept this coaching staff is. For those that don't believe it, why would Forrest just completely make it up? This staff is inept..plain and simple..the sooner you stop lying to yourself the sooner we can make improvements

If true, soooo similar to Curry. I knew a lot of players then; and there was zero respect for him. He had so many stupid rules and then couldn't connect with the players at all. I hope this is not the same...I like Stoops, but there is a lot of smoke and even some fires. I don't think he makes it past next year.
MY huge hope is, that we start the coaching search "behind the scenes" and get a someone lined up early. (wishful thinking, I know)

You all need to be honest with yourselves. UK as of now does not have the sparred or quickness to defend the QB option from any of the good teams they play. No matter who their coach, UK defense right now is a 5-6 win team if their lucky.

Why is this? And frankly, why are we losing to Louisville? We have out-recruited them three years in a row. If most of the recruits we have now sign, we will out recruit them for the fourth straight year. When does it stop being about the players when we lose to a team that we out-recruit every year?

Youre wrong. We have the speed. We just dont have the discipline. Of course insane athleticism helps, but its discipline that defends the option.

Hmmm, maybe Forrest and others fell asleep during the meeting. At least you can tell from their play on the field that some weren't ready.

Interesting that 2 defensive players say the opposite. Was Stamps being PC and covering for the coaches? Or were certain positional coaches preparing their players while others werent?

Well one player plays every snap and gets most of the tackles every game, and the other player has been benched at times this season for gold bricking. Hmmm, I wonder which one would have more of a desire to get back on the right track and in the good graces of the coaches?
