Bonner's blog said that Mullen could not confirm because he was not in Starkville. Isn't it a big recruiting weekend?

I think it was last weekend. I don't follow any recruits because I'm not creepy but I do follow Bonner and I did see him retweet all of our commits tweeting about how they were all hanging out in Starkville.

Can't expect the man to stay in 'Vegas every minute. It's 17ing middle earth. Same for Oxford and almost everywhere in the south.

Anyway, my understanding is that Mullen doesn't "recruit" players but is more or less an enforcer. Like any program. A guy on MSU's staff contacts you your junior year and builds a friendship and then they bring you in to meet Donald Trump in his corner office and he reaffirms how much of a difference you'd make. Of course he makes home visits, but I don't know how much that makes up a player's actual recruitment.

Kind of like "Come be a student at MSU! Look at what Dr. Keenum is doing! He's incredible! Meet an associate professor of biology on orientation!" Worked on me. Keenum is the ****.

I don't follow any recruits either, but you could not be more wrong. This is our first weekend of official visits.

Then I don't know why our recruits were tweeting about hanging out. Perhaps it was a "can't wait to hang out!" tweet. If that's the case, Mullen should have found a way to spend 30 minutes to hang out in his office when their coach brought them to his corner office to meet the HC for him to tell them how much we need them. That's what he's suppose to be good at. The closing speech. That's what we hear about from Rosebowl every year, about how each recruit is blown away with the speech Mullen gives them about how much we need them and how they're the piece we need to make it to ATLiens.

He's in Starkville. Someone said earlier that he was out eating with recruits, dak, and mckinney

You misread. Stricklin is not in Starkville. He is at a NCAA conference getting the spy equipment for Ole Miss's big recruiting weekend next weekend.
Mississippi State could not confirm the report. Athletic director Scott Stricklin is not in Starkville, while coach Dan Mullen has been out recruiting.
