This may have been Smith's way of saying, "no way in hell I'm competing with that freak Chris Jones." I wonder if Jones' progress has changed our DE recruiting strategy. It's possible that our coaches would just rather throw him out there.

aren't our DE starters next year no matter who we sign though I do think Chris Jones could get some playing time as a true freshman in certain situations assuming he can generate a pass rush.
