Because he is still making DC money

and wouldn't be able to get a DC job elsewhere?

Jones is gone if Wilson leaves. Could not have picked a worse time to do this. You wait till the NSD signatures are dry.

Wilson is not going to take a demotion and stay.

If Wilson leaves, say good bye to Jones.

woo, woo, woo why in the world would you say that? You have absolutely no information on the situation or even the relationship between Jones and Wilson. Do you really think Mullen would make such a move that would put the biggest recruit in his tenure as risk? Please don't feed the trolls, or perhaps you are one. What a dumb half-*** comment.

Maybe Wilson asked for this. Surely Dan handled this the right way. Wilson is a great d-line coach and our d-line will be better with Wilson giving it his full-time attention.

Please delete Tin Cup's post. Serves no purpose and completely hurts us and starts rumors that aren't true!

Did it matter to CJ Johnson that Manny left? Mississippi and Bama will now throw the kitchen sink at Jones. This will be a fight to the bitter end.

How fitting. WAMSU & you know we can't ever figure out a way to get a once in a generation type player to State. Cam, Suo, Monta, the list goes on and on.

It also mattered that CJ was "shown some love" x 10. You really seem to lack perspective in all of this.

Get this crap off this board NOW!! This kinda junk hurts us. You have no idea what is going on, and to assume such things is stupid and hurts our program.

No I don't, but i've followed recruiting close enough over the years to know that it's never good to see someone's lead contact leave. I would also add that with Ole Miss in their full court press on him, this would be exactly what they need to make a stronger move.

With that said, I assume you have all of the information? I bet you were positive that CJ and Buckles were going to be Bulldogs also.

But recruits read it!

If he wasn't going to leave already, Jones is surely gone now...

It's a message board. Calm down.

Can't believe you allow that crap after what happened yesterday and days before. It is a message board, but IMO, as an MSU board, there is some responsibility by you and this board to at least try to not give the enemy ammunition. You say settle down, but after Speck and Talty interview Jones after the game today and mention rumors that they saw on a message board, you will have to tell many many more people than me to settle down.

I agree Wilson is a great DLine coach. He's my favorite coach on the staff. Hell, on a personal level, I like him more than Mullen.

But quit being such a meatball. If you were an assistant football coach and got a demoted, would you stay? Take off your maroon colored glasses and think about it. These guys want responsibility as much as money. It's what vindicates their ability to coach.

Secondly, if your lead recruiter and future position coach were to leave, would it influence your decision on where to go? All I am saying is that IF Wilson leaves, this will be a bitter a fight to the end.

Sorry for being rational.

And there ends my disscussion with you. Obviously you are slightly irrational.

No, it obvious that everyone is thinking the same thing, but it take a real idiot to come on here have to say it just for the hell of saying it. I actually have a little more faith in Mullen that you obviously do. I try to say and do things that are productive and help MSU's program. We have got to be the dumbest fan base in America.

Judging from most of your comments I must have missed where it said Wilson was gone. Everyone needs to chill the 17 out. You're letting the decision of an 18yr old affect your life way too damn much.

So talking about this hurts MSU how?

thread on 24/7 talks about what happens if Wilson leaves.
Thread on genespage talks about what happens if Wilson leaves.

It's common sense stuff.

as of Jan 1st it sounds like he's still on board ...

How solid is Chris Jones to #MissState? Think #OleMiss could make a strong push for him before it's all said and done?

You are correct somewhat. But, to not discuss the possibility of him leaving and what may happen after is just silly. We all have a stake in MSU and obviously that is why we come here, to discuss. And that disscussion does include the negative aspects as well as the positive.

Now jumping up and down and screaming that if we don't always act positive on here it will affect MSU, that is just being irrational. While I agree that at times pessimistic attitude gets out of hand, pretending that negatives can't occur from this news is just not being objective.

My gut is that this much more of a play to keep Collins that it is to demote Wilson. I think this was promised to Collins to keep him from taking the FIU HC position. It's not a coincidence this rumor comes out a day after FIU announces their hire, who isn't much, if any, of an upgrade from Cristobal.

Now that is an interesting theory and plausible.

Did you actually watch our D and see the ****** D numbers this season? It has at least as much to do with how badly Wilson sucked.

Serious Question....

Wilson is a great d-line coach and our d-line will be better with Wilson giving it his full-time attention.

What have you seen that convinces you Wilson is "a great d-line coach?" Because I've been largely dissatisfied with what I've seen from our DL. We play with almost zero technique up front. All we ever do is bullrush. No one uses a swim move, club, or rip. We never stunt, either. And shall we forget that the DL was the biggest cluster of the whole 2012 team, despite having arguably some of the most talent? Wilson is the one who also decided that Cherry was fit to start over PJ, Virges, and Quay. If I'm missing something, I'd love to know what it is. Being a good coach is being a good teacher, and I haven't seen anything so far that makes me think our DL are being taught anything. Frankly, we played with better technique under David Turner and Brick.

Take your **** to genespage douche.

No self respecting coach is taking a demotion unless they have no other options. I imagine Mullen cussing his *** in front of the players and publicly discussing his playcalling duties being removed makes Wilson not want to hang around here.

Kinda' like CJ Johnson leaves when Diaz leaves, Conner leaves when Smith leaves. Why is it always State coaches leaving loses recruits, and no other schools do (lose recruits).

Great news, now just keep Wilson on as DL coach and all is well.

I doubt Wilson has that many other options available to him.

You simply don't follow other schools.

MSU has had arguably the fewest decommittments this year in the entire SEC thusfar. Bama, Florida, etal have had SEVERAL. Guess you didn't get that memo.
