Vandy's improved a lot but I'm okay with that slate. I hate that we're back with Alabama but it's nothing new for us. All in all it could be worse.

Well…..so much for the old “Tier” idea….lol. Absolutely never was a thing.

Best program in the league gets three “Tier 2” teams.

2nd best program in the league gets one Tier 1 and a couple of Tier 2’s.

Arkansas and South Carolina each get two Tier 1 teams.

This could potentially work out really well for us.

Look for Lea to leave Vandy, rendering them Vandy again.

Look for to Kiff bolt for UF.

And look for at least one more year of Shula II in Tuscaloosa. Coaching hires are hard, so who knows there.

I just hope the other 12 teams cycle through over four years rather than you play six for two years and the other six the next two years....it'd be nice to get some variation in opponents from year to year.

Check the tapes, i called Bama from the beginning.

Didn’t the 3rd, figured it to be Ark, UK or TAMU, i’m happy with Vandy though.

So if Bama, Vandy & Ole Miss are State's permanent opponents for the next 4 years, how would this change after that?

Lame ain’t going to UF, you can take that to the bank. There’s very few college jobs he’d leave for, Bama may he one.

Glad we can put this to bed. Been telling ya'll for years that Bama would not get Auburn, Tennessee and LSU.

Some of these could have been done better. Florida/Tennessee eliminated, and Ole Miss gets Oklahoma. Just weird.

So our rotating opponents will be:

Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, Auburn

My guess is we will get next year:

Texas A&M at home
Oklahoma on the road
Arkansas at home
LSU on the road
South Carolina at home
Auburn on the road

Reverse in 2027

Then:
Texas on the road
Missouri at home
Florida at home
Georgia on the road
Kentucky at home
Tennessee on the road

Reverse in 2029.

I wish we would play the other side of the schedule the next year then the reverses the next two. This would keep it new opponents while not messing the rotation up.

Don't know if that makes sense. Let me try it this way:

2026 Rotating opponents schedule A

2027 Rotating opponents schedule B

2028 Inverse of schedule A

2029 Inverse of schedule B

I hope you people are all ready to pair these three with Texas, A&M, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, and Oklahoma next year.

Looking at it, nobody looks obviously screwed. Kind of helps that it's been fluid lately. It's not where you know UGA and Bama are going to be really good and a worse draw than others. Only team that looks noticeably off is UT. Bama, Vandy and UK? Makes sense proximity and historical rival, but I would have thought they'd get UF and Bama and Vandy.

As mentioned, we're potentially getting a really good draw. Right now it actually looks pretty tough, but Vandy and UM are a coaching search away from regressing to the mean.

This is actually pretty balanced

Big takeaways for me - No Georgia/Tennessee, Tennessee/Florida, or Bama/LSU. How does Tennessee get Kentucky instead of Florida or Georgia?

Did we screw Ole Miss because we have sucked the past couple of years? They get LSU and Oklahoma.
All part of the plan.

The thing about having Vandy as a permanent is that it guarantees you’ll have a year or two with both Kentucky and Vandy on the schedule…. Our best records since the late 90’s came in years where we played both Vandy and Kentucky.

Between that and us planting former Mississippi State Athletic Directors across the conference, the master plan for up to 4 straight years of bowl eligibility has now come to fruition.

Soon, we won’t even have to ring responsibly at conference games.***
