PETRINO...the coach UK should have hired....SADLY..is licking his chops...he will put up big numbers against this UK defense.....so disappointing.......this team has regressed. CANT stop a good high school football team.

The truth is he will punish this UK team. On paper we have the talent but piss poor coaching and that UL game could get ugly! It is a must win for stoops period!

I don't care if he is SCUM, he is an offensive genius, and Loserville will be going BOWLING AGAIN...while the CATS lick their tales in the off-season again. I do not see this team winning another game except maybe Charlotte. HE DEVELOPS QBs...while at UK, their QBs regress...

All you holier than tho folks ever wonder why we continue to suck *** every fall? College football is a scumbags game. Nice guys don't win on Saturdays in the fall. I thought stoops was gonna kiss Richt after the game. Richt just walked away and brushed Stoops off.

I wanted Petrino too.

Rupp was UNIVERSALLY hated b everyone as one of the most arrogant men in sports. but guess what he WON GAMES so everyone gives him a bye on his reputation.

The posters saying they wouldn't want a coach because of his rep are probly the same one who said the same thing about Calipari and are now all over his nuts.

Your hiring him to win games....not because he's a swell guy.

Except Cal is not a terrible human being. Petrino is a horrible person in every facet.

You don't have to be holier than thou to reject Petrino. No other p5 school outside the tards would even touch that guy. It's that kind of win at all costs mentality that has landed them in the middle of a sordid hooker scandal.

You sound just like a UofL fan rationalizing about Whoregate. Unable to see obvious distinctions between someone who is unliked and someone who has no redeeming characteristics.

This isn't a popularity contest or bible school.

I make NO reservations about wanting UK to win football games by any means within the rules and I won't apologize for it.

I would hire Hitler if he won games.

Not giving up on Coach Stoops because I like so much the talent he is bringing in. However, I sure would have liked to have seen Mike Leach at least get a phone call after we made the decision to cut Joker loose.. As for Petrino... No Thanks

Well guys I'm 34 years old and my whole life UK football has been a cesspool of wasted Saturday's with a few and very brief moments of glory in there.

So excuse me for being sick and tired of watching UK be irrelevant in football. And Mojocat, you don't know me. I'm a good dude so don't make comments acting like me wanting UK to win at football says anything about my character. These coaches are paid MILLIONS to win games. Be real here people. It's not about being a good role model, it's about winning.

Let Calipari lose and see how few people would talk about his good deeds off the court. Winning people. That's the bottom line and I'm sick of watching UK lose.

Stupid thread. Petrino has been awful this year...they just found their QB Today...should've been playing Bolin the whole year.

We are terrible right now...doesn't mean you have to lie about how well Petrino is doing this year.

The narrative made up by rival fans and the media about Cal's reputation does not equal Petrino's actual reality. There's a huge difference there, and trying to even compare the two is idiotic.

Louisville is beating Syracuse 38-10 right now.

Anything else is irrelevant.

I have to watch UofL thrive while UK continues to not show up.

Excuse me for wanting more. I'm done with the message boards for today. Nothing's I say on here matters. Towles will start next week, he will struggle, UK probably puts up less than 10 points, and loses to Vandy. Trying to express my desire to win does nothing. UK and the administration has to decide what is acceptable and what isn't

Wouldn't want Petrino anywhere around the UK program. I hating losing too but there are much better options and we passed on several when hiring Stoops. Have to admit, I was behind Stoops when he got the job and was hoping he would be the one but I think, like others, maybe it was the name reputation I mistakenly fell for. It's obvious he isn't head coaching material and that we should have gone for another coach who had some head coaching experience. Having said that, Petrino would definitely not be on my list of those types of coaches. Watched Western today and they are fun to watch and have a very entertaining offense and defense. I know Brohm probably wouldn't come to UK but that is the type of hire we should have been looking at in the first place. Someone who was having success as a head coach who might be interested in an SEC job even if it is Kentucky.

It wouldn't matter. Heck, anything short of Urban Meyer, Nick Saban or Bill Bellichek and it wouldn't matter. This is UK football; the graveyard of coaches. It's going to take someone far beyond the the ability of Petrino to make a difference, and that's never going to happen. We can hope for a few Music City or Liberty bowls here and there, but to expect anything different is to ignore years and years of history.
