Concerning? Certainly. We are taking a chance. As someone else mentioned, taking the kid from FT Highlands who washed out of Auburn turned out bad, as did taking Rod Council (of Uzi fame) about a decade earlier. Willie Williams (the Miami transfer, not the JC transfer) turned out to be a bad choice, as well. I was never a Michael Dyer fan, either, though we never heard anything bad about him until he skipped out on school after his final game in 2014.
However, Robert Clark and Gerald Christian (transfers from Florida) turned out to be good pickups. In Christian's case, we not only got him, but by taking him we also got his brother Geron Christian, who will be starting at left tackle for us this year. James Sample, the player who was kicked out of Washington, also was a positive - he's now playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars. So far, Devonte Fields, Josh Harvey-Clemons, Jaquay Savage, and Shaq Wiggins have also worked out well.
Until we are re-stocking each year with 4 and 5 star players, improving the roster in this way is what it is going to take to have a chance to beat FSU and Clemson. It's one of the reasons why I have been pretty vocal on the Collision Course board about the mediocre rankings of our recruiting classes under Petrino the past two years.
