Thanks for the info. Can’t be easy for Shaheen to have to beg players to come here continually. It’s one thing to be interested in the player and vice versa. Another beast to get them to sign on. Add it all up and the pickings are very slim. Has to be exhausting.

Very slim pickings left.

Per EvanMiya, there are only 49 players listed as PF or C remaining in the Portal with a projected Overall Rating of Zero or better. For comparison's sake Godswill is 54th at -0.08 and Mbaye is 63rd at -0.26.

The guy the OP mentioned is 18th at +0.77. He's listed at 7'0" 230 pounds. Offensively, he's a rim-runner and screener with no ability to shoot outside the paint or post up. He's a dunker and offensive rebounder with a whopping 74.7% FG% including 84.5% at the rim (97th percentile). He's terrible at everything else offensively but if you get it to him at the rim he can flush it.

Defensively he's an elite shot-blocker at 15.6% (99th percentile). He led his Conference with 2.2 Blocks per Game & 16.1% Block Rate and was named CUSA All-Defense playing just 18.8 minutes per game in conference games. He's a decent offensive rebounder but not a great defensive rebounder as he seems to go for blocks.

This is why I didn’t like his “plan” of going for all guards in the beginning. Refused to pay Matas, probably outbid for Josiah, etc

At this point we need him, even if it's a bench or platoon spot.

Here are the top 40 left in the Portal at PF/C. Obviously doesn't include International Pros and also doesn't include any Seniors who may apply for a waiver.

Aaron Bradshaw was said to have visited us recently. We reached out to Devin Williams and David Fuchs. Any of those 3 would be welcome additions.

Sha has shown an affinity to go with a SF/Wing at the 4 so those guys wouldn't be listed here.

I'd be happy with:

Devin Williams from Florida Atlantic
Rrezon Elezaj from UConn
Aaron Bradshaw from Memphis (Played at Camden High School)
Ivan Matlekovic from UNC
Robert Miller III from LSU

Baye Fall…thats a name that keeps reappearing. Turned out to be a stiff. Wasn’t he considered a package deal with Diop at one point?

Seton Hall reached out to Louisiana Tech C Melian Martinez who averaged a whopping 4.2 & 2.9.

@Seton75 thinks this would be a great addition!

Yes but bigs who can score are all taken at this point and we are left with bigs who can only rebound and block shots. So if that is the case bring Godswell and Mbaye back. It might save us money too.

Devin Williams would be a very solid add. He’s the type of player Shaheen needs anchoring his defense. I doubt we can get him.

My expectations for big men are as low as can possibly be. Need Shaheen to work some magic here.

Would not be good for us, but I now hope Hines gets recruited over and sits on the bench at UConn. Uncharitable way to think but I'm a fan and that stands for fanatic and how funny would that be vs. getting all the playing time he wants at Seton Hall

Jilted girlfriend syndrome.

I stopped thinking about him altogether. I don't wish him any ill, and I also don't care about his success. Moving on.

Easy to say until he drops 20/10 on us twice
I'm confident he will. So? Why is that different than Sanogo or Clingan or Reed doing it?

UConn would have a center to drop numbers on us regardless of what Hines elects to do.

The fact that it's Hines doing it is irrelevant.

This is a business and Hines can do whatever he wants. We don't own anybody and nobody has an obligation to take a less amount of NIL just because you're a fan.

And I'm not gonna sit here getting c*nty over it.
